Our old lint filter was not too sturdy when we purchased our new Whirlpool dryer in 2003. After about a year, the lint filter began to fray and split. I am quite frugal (that doesn't necessarily mean "cheap"!) and put off replacing this item because the cost from the dealer seemed to be prohibitive. My sweet wife "persuaded" me to find a replacement. I researched this item - read the reviews, etc... - and said to myself: "What the heck! I'll take a chance." I am quite pleased with the quality of this replacement filter. It fits better than the original and my wife is very pleased.

The screen itself is a fragile design

These where advertised to fit Whirlpool/Kenmore dryers, while it did fit, it was too long and the access door wouldn’t close. They did issue a refund and didn’t have to return ( thought that was odd ) so not sure what to do about it, hate to just throw it out, seems like such a waste..

My original lint screen lasted forever but this replacement’s edge started to rip about a year later. I was disappointed.

Exactly the correct dimensions to replace the original item. It traps lint. Looks identical to screen filters provided with newer Whirlpool dryers. It's plastic, but appears durable enough if not stressed.

I gave it 3 stars, because it's not as heavy duty or as deep as my original lint screen, but the price was right. My original screen was made out of metal, like old window screens. They did a rather messy job of gluing the screen to the frame, but as long as it holds up, I guess it's OK. Since it is a bit more shallow than my original one, it can get filled to capacity when drying the cat's blankets. Otherwise, it does it's job. No more lint is building up at the back of the dryer, nor pouring out of the vent on our back porch. It is serving it's purpose.

We like how strong this filter is compared to our previous one. It fits our dryer perfectly.
