I'M NOT DRILLING THROUGH MY 5TH WHEEL HITCH PLATE!
I received the adapter missing some paint, the hardware, and any instructions for the installation as others here have mentioned. I figured I could just buy the bolts at my local hardware store however, upon further inspection I discovered that this adapter doesn't actually bolt to (clamp style) your 5th wheel hitch. It requires you to drill 4 holes and then it can bolt THROUGH YOUR 5th WHEEL PLATE. Absolutely no mention of having to drill anything to install this adapter is mentioned in the description. Even if the hardware had been included with my adapter, a 3/4" hardened drill bit required to drill through the hardened steel plate for the installation process is not included. Additionally, a 3/4" hardened drill bit required for drilling a steel plate isn't something you just run out and purchase at the hardware/automotive store. No way is having to drill 4 - 3/4" holes in your 5th wheel plate considered an "easy installation" as described in the listing. My air ride and boxed hitch plate (Forest River Sandpiper 30RLSS) prevent me from accessing that area to install nuts and bolts anyway.Additional, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND you contact your trailer manufacturer before installing this adapter. A quick phone call may save you thousands in damages!I DO NOT recommend this adapter, I have returned it through Amazon, and I will NOT purchase this adapter again in the future.

I didn’t give the rating because of bad quality, my rating is because you have to drill and vote on this adapter to your king pin plate. It does come with all the hardware but I was under the impression it had the collar and you could lock it on the king pen. There is no way to install this on our camper because we have the new air ride system in the front, can’t get To the top side to tighten bolts.

Size to small for regular truck bed
FYI. This adapter IS NOT for a regular truck bed. It will work only on flat beds. Is too short for a regular bed. ordered the 17’’ and hopefully is tall enough.

High quality
Excellent piece of equipment! The instructions on measuring was clear and concise. There is a video on installation on you tube that was very helpful! It is a very strong, well built adapter of high quality!
