Simpson Strong-TieSD10212R100 #10 x 2-1/2" Structural Screw 100ct

I love these Simpson screws. They're extremely strong, and the 1/4" hex head almost eliminates the cam out problems with Philips head screws. Each box comes with a 1/4" bit, but I highly recommend using a magnetic 1/4" bit. I got my Dewalt magnetic bit from Home Depot. I've used these on my deck railings, and most recently to retrofit my roof rafters with Simpson rafter ties using a Ryobi 18V+ cordless drill. This combination made working in my confined attic space much more bearable than trying to swing a hammer, pulling a cord for a corded drill, or squeezing an air nail gun into the corners.

I used these screws to put together a wood shed, and while I did go back with a nail gun later, I found the screws easier to work with when i had to put things in place temporarily. The screw head drives very easily with the provided socket drill bit.

Holly cow these save you so much time and effort compared to nailing. I like that they are engineered for the brackets and act like nails.

Not much to say the other than they have a dull finish as opposed to a stainless steel finish but then again they post didn't say it was stainless steel.
