Corona AG 4940 Long Curved Snip, Tempered Steel

My 85 year old single Mom has worked extremely hard, her whole life, to raise 3 kids, and deserves to have quality stuff in her older years. She built an entire house from money she saved, working a side business doing tropical flower arrangements. I wanted her to have some really good, well designed, easy-to-use, easy-to-sharpen, Japanese cutting shears. My mom is 1/4 Japanese, and Japanese people know, Japanese stuff is THE BEST quality. But... she's also 1/2 Chinese, and is SUPER TIGHT with money. I knew she would not want anything I spent a lot of money on. Not that these were not worth the price, but I knew she'd feel better about them if I told them I got them for free from a friend who does estate sales (then she'd feel like it was a total SCORE, lol). And hallelujah.... it worked.,... she said she really liked them. It's NOT easy to get anything for my Mom, who doesn't like fancy stuff. She HATES when I spend what she considers to be "too much money" on ANYTHING. I got her a massage once for Mother's day and she scoffed, "Why would I want something like that?" It's like, she is just about impossible to get her a gift that she LIKES and WILL USE.... but this is the one thing I can think of, that I ever got my Mom, that she really liked. So, if I had to fib about how I got it.... so be it. My Mom DESERVES to have the best, QUALITY stuff, even if she doesn't think so herself : D.

I needed some curved snips for my dragon fruit plants. These are sharp and a great size. For the price you can't beat them. I bought some others a little cheaper and these are a night and day difference. I am going to order the straight cut version as well.

For the price, it's significantly better than other more expensive brands. It's not even close, no plastic all steel. The curve blade is also really nice

These are the most awesome tool! EVERYONE needs at least one pair. I have several. Watch out for your fingers they are sharp.

You should buy stainless steel instead.

I bought these for working with weed. Heavy duty, good quality. However for trimming buds they are a little heavy and bulky. Something with thinner blades and more lightweight would be more efficient and easier to work with. No doubt these snippers will last a lifetime. Heavy enough to cut through even the thickest of stalks without any effort. A little too heavy to sit there and trim buds for 6 hours.

Good, but not for trimming nugs, too heavy. Good for cutting medium stems.

I've had a number of pruners over 25+ years I've been gardening and these are the best I've ever had. The curve on the blades gives you great precision in dead heading and pruning allowing to make cuts close to stems without worrying about accidentally cutting the stem itself. The only think I don't care for is the leather strap used to keep them closed. I find it difficult to slide on and off to open and close the pruners. Would be nice to have an easier means to keep them closed. But despite that I highly recommend them. I've been so pleased with them, I bought a second pair to gift to my daughter-in-law who is also a gardener.
