Cat CT2400 Aluminum Focusing Tactical Light- 220 Lumen LED 3 Mode Flashlight, ( Black/Yellow)

The CAT CT2405 is a well-built flashlight with its all-Aluminium metal construction that’s better than a lot of flashlights that I’ve used. It glows bright white and has an adjustable focus ring that can be used to light up a large area up close or a narrower beam for spot checking or illuminating distant objects (I've posted some sample pics)DESIGN & BUILD:- The entire body of the flashlight, except the rear battery cap, is made of Aluminum which feels quite substantial for its size and gives it a premium feel- The metal fins extend a good deal in front of the flashlight lens are thick and provide protection to the glass/bulb in case of falls- The flashlight beam can be changed to a narrow or a wide beam by pulling the focus ring in or out. It operates and held in position by friction- Extending the focus ring reveals the three battery indicator lights & the charging port- The flashlight operates in 3 Modes : (A) 100 % Brightness (B) 50% and (C) Strobe. You have to cycle through them every time , even to it off- The flashlight is operated by a rechargeable 2200 mAH 18650 rechargeable battery which is commonly used in Vape pens. This means you can replace them when they run out with higher capacity/discharge 18650 batteries for even better performanceA QUICK WORD ON FLASHLIGHT BRIGHTNESS:The CT2405 flashlight is rated at 420 lumens (a measure of emitted light) which is amongst the highest you can expect from a handheld flashlight operating on a single 3.7V Li-Ion battery. The maximum I've seen is about 600 lumens for slightly larger LED flashlights.- You will find plenty of listings for similarly sized no-name flashlights claiming 800 or 1000 lumens brightness, And I've seen listings as high as 5000 lumens which makes me want to roll my eyes hard!- A car's halogen headlamp emits about 1000~1200 lumens of light at high beam and that's running off a 12V Battery as compared to a 3.7V flashlight battery. So please be weary of such inflated claimsTHE GOOD:- Extremely bright - Lights up a considerable area/distance brightly considering its small size- Premium aluminium construction which looks like it can withstand plenty of abuse- Replacement 18650 rechargeable battery is easily available as its commonly used in Vape pens- About 10 Hours battery life at 50% brightness & 2.5 to 3 Hours at 100% BrightnessISSUES & THEIR FIXES (CONS):- When you use the flashlight for the first time, please make sure to unscrew the battery cap and remove the insulating plastic disc which prevents the battery terminal to make contact (to prevent discharging)- Initially I had very inconsistent performance with the flashlight - It would either flicker or fully charge under 1 Hour and then deplete in under 15 minutes . After a lot of head-scratching I finally figured out that when I was adjusting the focusing ring, I was doing so with a twisting motion to extend or retract it instead of just pulling or pushing it and In doing so I was often twisting the focus ring clockwise which inadvertently loosened the LED Chip unit underneath the lens- I fixed this by fully removing the lens hood and re-seating the LED Chip unit and screwed the head tightly. Thus I recommend that if you do use a twisting motion to adjust the flashlight focus - Then twist it only in the Counterclockwise direction. This will ensure that the LED Chip unit is secure and stays tight every time.- For this reason I take away one star, as I was eventually able to figure out what was going wrong but shouldn't have happened in the first place.FINAL THOUGHTS:Overall I really like the Cat flashlight with its premium construction and high intensity making it ideal for home, camping or having in your car. The only thing I didn't like was the potential of erratic performance due to the LED Chip loosing contact when operating the focus ring with a twisting motion - Counterclockwise,That's the key here!

I'll tell you what this thing is pretty bright. I do love the telescopic function sometimes I need to focus all of the light into a small area and there are times where I need to be hands-free which is when zoom out and placed it somewhere and it lights up the whole room or area. Why only three stars you ask...... I'm not sure if anyone else has run into this problem what this product but occasionally light will shut itself off and I have to take the battery out for about 5 Seconds and reinstall it when I know it was fully charged and only used it 5 minutes sometimes 10 before it goes off. after the reinstall the battery meter reads reads full again.

This flashlight seems well made and durable. My only disappointment was that there are no good instructions. The instructions were to remove the "insulator" from the battery before using. By adding one word to this as; [insulator "disc"] would help. The 10 hrs. on a charge would have to be on low power as on full power the green light goes out quickly and this flashlight gets HOT when on full power. Almost to hot to hold. When charging the indicator green light blinks until full charge. The flashlight always comes on full power when turned on. The USB cord is a USB-a to USB-b Micro.

Just got it today guess I.ll know within a few days if its good or not

This Flashlight is truly wonderful. I do not review many of the items I buy generally, but I felt compelled to review this Cat Flashlight. The brightness, weight, focusing beam and price make this a the best light for any need, from walking my dog, to working in the dark, this flashlight rarely leaves my side. I never realized there is such a big difference in various brands of flashlights until I bought and used this Cat one, I have already purchased another light from these guys (CT1000) and am excited to use that too.

Wont hold a charge even when not using battery is always dead

Al principio todo bien, la primer carga me duró un tiempo razonable, después me di cuenta que se descargaba sola ya que aunque no la usará la lámpara ya no funcionaba, a la primer caída el led se desprendió y tuve que desarmarla para repararlo,realmente tuve muchas ganas de regresarla para que me la cambiaran, ahora simplemente ya no funciona, el gusto de verla funcionar (por que la luz es muy buena) me duró 2 meses

Buena luz,pero hasta apagada se descarga, no le dura ni una hora la carga de la bateria
