Apple Slicer Divider and Corer

Updated review - with the new apple slicer sent to me by the incredibly nice people there, it is incredibly sturdy and works beautifully. And the mango slicer that I accidentally received first (see below) also worked fantastically! I've had many apple slicers that hurt my hands to use, that did not cut steadily, and that weren't nice to look at either. Not only is the product great, but the customer service has me sold for life. Anyone can make a mistake, but it takes a special grace to handle it appropriately.Initial review: It was mislabeled - the front said Apple Slicer / Corer but the back label was correct: Elite Chef Mango Slicer! I hadn't even realized there was such a thing so I'll try it, but still need the apple slicer and need to buy something else with it as it was an add-on item due to expensive shipping. It looks very strong and sturdy and I'm sure it will work. I would have ranked this lower being the incorrect item, but excited to try it with mangoes. And I ranked it higher still because the Elite Chef company wrote me just to see that it arrived safely and on time (it had) and I explained about the mislabeling and they are setting about to correct this immediately so it doesn't affect other buyers. I will be trying the mango slicer soon (looking for mangoes in the northeast in December), and was more impressed by the company itself. Nice job and I look forward to seeing what else they make.

With summer here I find that I am using this more and more. During the colder months I used this mainly for the occasional fruit snack for the kids or myself but with summer here I use this regularly to core and divide apples. This corer actually works rather well and cleans up very easily. I have had some that there are always pieces of fruit stuck in them but so far I have not had that issue with this. The handles make it easy to grip and when you are working with a lot of fruit its good to know that you can still keep a grip on the handles. It is really easy to use even if you are working with an apple that is not perfectly round. Overall it is really easy to use, it cleans up easily, and the handles make it a little easier to use.I received this item for free for review and evaluation purposes, all opinions expressed are my own.

Slices well, and core comes out a bit larger than competitive slicers, eliminating seeds.

JUST WHAT I WANTED!!

I normally just eat my apple but I saw this and wondered if it actually worked.First of all this is very heavy duty. I was surprised. This is faster than cutting the apple! I actually liked this apple slicer. I wish I had tried something like this before now. I love apples cut like this now!The only prob I had is it did not peel the apple! *smiles* Seriously all jokes aside This sturdy Elite Chef Apple Slicer, Divider and Corer is great! I must say that I am in LOVE with this! My 3 year old is going through an apple phase lol It's not always easy to stop what I'm doing and meticulously cut up, peel, get rid of the core, and then cut yet again because they have to be "just right" in size according to her. It never fails that when she wants one, I can't find my favorite knife. Once I find it, I realize it needs sharpened. I can't find the sharpener. Finally find the sharpener and when I'm ready to cut the apple she doesn't want it anymore. lol This saves so much time and headache.This is super light weight, and I love the rubber grips on each side. I was worried it might slip and get away from me but the rubber grips definitely keep that from happening. The blades are super sharp so make sure that this is stored out of reach of children. It would be awesome if this came with some sort of cover for the blades or a storage container. But it's still awesome. It's so simple to use. Just align the circle in the middle with your apple stem, and lightly press down until you break the peel. After that just one strong push down and you've got perfect apple slices WITHOUT the core. Just make sure you align the circle correctly otherwise you might cut the core crooked.The last suggestion I have is to make sure that you clean this IMMEDIATELY after use. It's super easy to clean if you do it right away and don't let it sit and get sticky. Just a quick rinse, wipe it off with a soapy sponge or if you have a bottle brush that works even better, rinse again, and you're done. If you let it get sticky, it will be much harder to clean.I received this product at a discounted rate in exchange for an honest, unbiased review.
