Low cost - easy replacement - worked :-)

The two brushes were slightly different, unlike the original items.The plastic lug on one was larger. The metal housing was loose and protruded more on one. On both, the connectors were bent and seemed fractionally smaller than the original items, giving a slightly loose electrical connection. I had to use pliers on the mating half before fitting, to give a tighter and more reliable connection.They were cheap though, and got the Henry up and running.Preparation for fitting.Before fitting, I used 600 & 1000 grade wet & dry paper (used dry) to clean up the surface of the commutator. I then ensured that the gaps between the commutator segments were clear using a sharp plastic tool. A small amount of electrical switch cleaner removed contamination from the commutator, leaving it bright and shiny, ready for the new brushes.When fitting them, make sure they’re as far forward as possible (nearest the commutator). (They will also lock into place when sat slightly further away, which will lead to problems such as the wiring touching the metal chassis of the motor, which is not what you want.)

Part number 2311480 carbon brush apparently was only available in USA as this is where the Metro is manufactured.I originally bought this dryer in 2003 when I started in dog grooming. All the new dryers were £400 and very plastic, so I took this one to bits after it failed to power up.Suspected the brushes as they have never been changed. This is where I found the part number. Quick google brought me here. They look slightly different to attach, but it’s a simple fix. I’m a lass with no electricity knowledge and managed to unscrew the clasp then tease out slowly the metal connecter. This released the brush, push in the wired connecter to the exact hole, then clasp down.Fixed! Instead of a £30 imported part. 👌🏼Always google the part number and you never know if a ‘Henry hoover’ part may fit a USA dog blaster....

Vacuum up and running again with very little outlay. Fit as well as the originals, good value for money and saved scrapping the unit. Would happily buy these again.

Not compatiple with Henry HVR200. Waste of money. They have a get out of jail card in the notes telling you to check the photo. Conned.
