Does what is says, wish it had other concentration options.
This product lowers the pH of water as advertised. Confirmed with multiple test types. The dosing (using the cap), is geared towards lowering the pH of a full aquarium. However, I prefer to lower the pH of each individual gallon of water I put in the tank. So, it's relatively hard to only add a drop or two. I wish it came in lower concentrations (capful per gallon, for example) or came with a dropper or something for micro dosing.Pro:-Does what it says.-Easy to use.Cons:-Dosed for large water quantities. Hard to add to a single gallon of water before putting into tank.

Might be good, hasn’t killed the fish+
Set up a new 65g African cichlid tank ~5months ago. I know they prefer the higher ph, but I’m having a hard time controlling it. Keep spiking above 12. Seems to be working I can get it back to 8/9 but I AM USING A LOT JUST TO SEE 1 STEP IN PH DOWN from testing! I had a 120g with african cichlids before and didn’t have this problem and the old product I can’t seem to get anymore, I used a little and you would see a full step change in the tests, with each treatment.

Did the trick for my Hot Tub.
I've been trying to lower the PH without lowering the alkalinity, none of the Hot Tub chemicals would do it but this did the trick, now it balances perfectly.

Terrible. Distilled white vinegar was better.
I recently had some issue with my ph being too high in my tank. I tested with hanna ph meter and testing strips to back up the results. I also checked water for all other issues. I replaced my filter elements and 50% water. Still I got high ph. I put the Fritz ph down in and nothing. I put more. Alot more. And ph went down .1.... I waited a day. Put more...no change. I put alot more. Nothing. Then a .1 drop that eventually went back up .2... I eventually did this enough to put the whole bottle in a 55 gallon tank in less than a week's time. I then put ph lock from another manufacturer and some distilled white vinegar and the ph finally went down and is holding. Note that I also used RO/DI water to do the water change. I also removed half or more of the gravel. I even put in distilled water diluted with the RO water to try to get the ph down in case my hardness was actually too high and wasn't reading properly with the strips. This product is not worth your money or time. They don't even put what the product is on the bottle. Its just a mystery I suppose. Smelled like nothing. Probably water....Garbage.
