NEW OEM SAMSUNG AB553446GZ BATTERY SCH U430 A640 A930 U620 A870

I have a Samsung flip phone SCH-u430 that I bought in late 2008. My original battery has DC080929 (format DCYYMMDD) meaning it was constructed 9-29-2008. I've included pictures of both sides and both ends of the purchased battery. It had enough charge to at least turn on my phone. I immediately got the message in red "LOW BATTERY POWERING OFF" and my phone shut off. I included a picture of the screen with the battery charging. When the battery finished charging I turned on my phone and immediately got notified of three new voice messages. One of those voice messages was from last August. That tells me this new battery is working much better than my old battery. I called my MagicJack number and left a message. Then I listened to that message and it was clear. My original battery was still strong enough to leave a message but it was a little garbled. So it must take more power to talk and transmit than it does to just listen on my cell flip phone. My flip phone is pre-paid and I only use it in case of an emergency. So it is off almost all of the time. The battery discharges over time and then I charge it back up. That is why the original battery lasted 12 years. So at least this new battery is four years newer and is working well. Maybe I'll just buy a new flip phone instead of adding more money to this phone. I have to add money at least once a year. But I can always check it by calling my MagicJack number and seeing if it leaves a clear message.Third time is the charm. The first site I went to advertised "ORIGINAL BATTERY FOR SAMSUNG AB553446GZ" normally $50.00 but on sale for $42.95. The lady said this battery was made by Samsung while the ones they sold for $19.95 were made by third parties. When I put it in my phone and turned on my phone the screen displayed a big red message "NON SUPPORTED BATTERY SEE USER MANUAL". At first I just tried to charge it and I got the message "UNABLE TO CHARGE". So that vendor issued me a credit and told me it was OK to just throw that battery away.So I went to a second vendor that had a battery that looked exactly like my original battery except the little horizontal rectangle on the end was purple and not pink. DC070131 on the back of that battery meant that the date of manufacture was 1-31-2007, so it was older than my original battery. It started to charge but then the screen went blank. When I had it on a flat surface it would spin around freely. That meant that it must have a bulge in the middle. A good battery should be completely flat and not spin around if you tried spinning it. Bottom line, that battery was a dud. The vendor credited my account and told me it was OK to just throw that battery away. I emailed them asking them to please check their stock to see if they had any batteries with a recent date of manufacture. At least take the battery out of the bag and try spinning it to make sure that is doesn't have a bulge in the middle. That second vendor never answered my email. I have a nice Facebook album documenting this and supplied a link to my album in the email.So Amazon was a last resort for me. I asked the question "Is there a little pink horizontal rectangle on the end on the right side with the three little vertical gold contact rectangles on the left side?" Someone answered yes. I also asked if someone would post 4 pictures of their battery, both sides and both ends, so I could check things out for myself. So I hope my review eases your mind a little. I just wish they had some batteries with a more recent date of manufacture. So if you are considering buying from this vendor here on Amazon then at least you know what to ask them. If you are desperate as I was then just buy one and take you chances that it will work. So I hope the vendor reads this and checks their stock.

Just received order and battery is charging. Hoping for the best since I previously had this make ofold battery in another fliptop and it lasted a long time.

It is too soon to rate the life expectancy of this battery, but it is appears to be as good or better than the one it replaced. The capacity is the same or better than the original and it certainly works better than the one it replaces which was several years old. Based on the limited use I would purchased this product again.

I ordered this battery for my client as I do in-home caregiving. We went to Verizon and they informed us that it would cost between $40-$100 and to look on Amazon for the battery. To her surprise, the battery cost A LOT LESS than what we were told. She was also surprised that the battery came so soon and she thought that the battery was too small. When I ordered the battery it had the exact same numbers as her original. When I put it in her cell phone it fit perfectly!
