Great story my son loved it
I love how this book starts out. I love how it shows it is ok to be different and have friends who are different as well. That friends veing there for one another is what counts. Showing how they supported each other through different situations. This was a great read

Cute stories about sea friends
Children will love this fun series of short stories about a friend group of sea creatures. Perfect blend of fun, adventure, support and encouragement of friends, being true to yourself, and going for your dreams. The short stories will engage youngsters and help them enjoy reading. I’m sure after reading these stories, they will be eager to read more. The book includes prompts for activities, so kids can act out the adventures of their new sea friends. Activities would be fun to do by themselves or with family and friends. The stories are followed by cute sea-themed jokes. Kids will also learn some things about sea life in different parts of the world as they are reading the stories.Definitely recommend this book.

Okay.
I thoroughly enjoy reading these type of children books, for they always teach my children an important life lesson in a simple and easy way that they can understand. It's important for children today to have morals, and the only way that they will obtain them is if they are taught from a young age.

Wonderfully linked stories! 5 fish friends and their lives.
I characterize children's books into 4 categories;1) Look at me books =hard thick books, all pictures, maybe sounds, mostly tactile learning)2) Grandpa's Lap (or grandma's or mom's, dad's, or any relative's, sorry) = Child sits in lap, looks at bright pictures and story is read to them, dramatized by the reader3) Read to me books = Child is not looking at pictures, may be in bed, etc., reader is reading stories4) Early readers = Children encouraged to read stories themselvesI would classify Chompy the Shark in Group 3: read to me booksChompy the story contains links together 5 different stories of 5 fishy friends, a shark that will not eat fish and must accept the consequences of his brave actions, a jellyfish that must face her fears as an actress and not back down, a swordfish who realizes that it is better to be who he is than someone else, a starfish who gets the break of her life and a seal who discovers that stepping out isn't so bad after all. Each story offers the opportunity for you to talk with your children about "what you have done", or "could you have been that brave"?I highly recommend this a read to me book

~~Chompy Makes New Friends...and they are not Sharks!!~~
This is such a cute selection of short stories for children ages 4 - 8. Chompy decided to be a vegetarian and his family made fun of him. He left home and luckily for him he bumped into (should say swam into a swordfish named Buzz. Buzz was so happy to be able to talk with a shark that a great friendship was formed. The rest of the short stories feature Chompy, Buzz, Jilly the Jellyfish, Slick the seal and Flashy Starfish. I laughed at loud at some of the humor in this one. One that made me laugh was when Jilly was awarded the starring role in a play. She was to perform 'Jelly Lake". How cute is that?On a serious note, Chompy was picked on for being a vegetarian and he does make lots of new friends that love him for being a shark. Chompy also has a wonderful quote 'sometimes the things we want most are also the scariest'.There are also a couple of Just for Fun Activities included. Most highly recommended.

Good story
This is a fun book. My first grader liked the story and could read most of it with a little help. I would have liked it to have some pictures and fewer words per page as a full page of words is a little daunting at this point. Might be too easy/short for more advanced readers who aren't still interested in pictures.

Great book for a great imagination
Great book for a great imagination. Not the most engaging graphical layouts if you have a child who loves visuals, but practical for a child with a great imagination.

Good children book
This book is cool! My children are always comparing themselves to the other children. This book teaches them that being different is fine. There is nothing to be scared or ashamed about. We will still make friends with the ones who are true to us.
