I first found this book on my audio books from Kindle unlimited. I really wanted a hand held copy to highlight so many wonderful quotes and affirmations.This book will be a blessing to grieving parents as it has been and will continue to be for me as I still struggle daily with the tragic car accident that took my beloved first born son Spencer to heaven before me, which is not the true nature in the circle of life.Just one chapter heading from (Gary Roe's book pg. 3).

I lost my 25 year old daughter in December after she was in a huge cr!h with both drivers drunk. She had the worst brain injuries and she flew away after 2 weeks on life support. The devastation, the worst pain I will ever know....I'm just a ghost breathing in and out automatically. The essays in this book ....I read so many of them aloud to her. Released a tiny bit of grief. I recommend this to all parents who are also in the most agonizing nightmare ever.

This is the second book I’ve bought for someone grieving by this author. The first one was for a friend who had lost her husband and this one for a friend who lost her adult son. Both friends told me that this book meant so much to them and that it helped them tremendously. I will definitely buy it again.

Gary has a unique way of speaking right to the heart and soul of the grieving! I have read several of his books and found them very helpful. This is no different. Every page spoke to me personally with many of them being read through tears. I lost my son two years ago but the grief is still heart wrenching. Gary addresses many topics that go through my mind constantly. This book brings comfort and reassurance just when I need it!

This book made me feel as if Gary had been following me around recording my thoughts, feelings and emotions. It is so accurate and I could relate to the topics I believe anyone who has experienced the loss of a child would benefit because you can see that others feel and experience the same things even though you feel all alone. In addition, the uplifting message at the end of each chapter provides some positivity and hope. Definitely recommend.

I purchased this book for my friend who just lost her son. It is a well written, thoughtful, comforting book, and I hope it helps her as she navigates through her grief and loss. I would recommend.

This is the perfect book to give a grieving parent who has just had their soul ripped out. The excerpts are taken from other grieving parents who can identify with the feelings of losing a child. It’s hard for us to know what to say to our loved one who has lost a child, but the gift of this book was exactly what my friend needed. It is written in a way that they can pick it up each day and just go to a passage that describes how they are feeling, and by way of other grieving parents feel understood. It helps them work through their grief emotions without guilt. And it even has pages for them to use as a journal. A truly great book!
