For the scanner to work, you definitely need a USB3 powered hub, so after buying a new hub I tried to scan the "Test Duck" but could not get the programme to load! The tech services at Sol were very helpful and after downloading a new driver, the scanner worked.To get good results, the scanned object needs to be scanned in three different positions, but with 20 to 30 minutes per scan, you need to be patient! Hence, I dropped a star. However, the results are dimensionally accurate and of good quality and for a budget priced scanner, it's worth the patience.

Great Scanner. Unfortunately mine was faulty so it stopped working properly after two scans, but I believe it was just bad luck. Will be getting a replacement soon.

It scanned the plastic duck just fine, obviously picked for a reason. Everything else has ranged from very poor to poor. The technology isn’t ready yet it would seem.

I dont know anything about scanning but thought this would be interesting to go along with my 3d printer. Once i had worked out that the tent needed to be upside down and the scanner placed inside with the cover over the top I got amazing scans.Only negative so far and its probably user error so i will not give less stars is that it fails on the 3rd scan quite often. And rather than just redo that last scan, you have to start from scratch again. Perhaps the developers could address this.

I purchased this to scan 25mm tall miniatures that I produce. The resolution should be ok for my needs only the min size is much much larger which wasn't stated on the product.
