pretty good if at the same cost as the regular 3600
not a bad processor, very capable and overclockable. i got up to 4.5ghz on a noctua nh-d15 cooler but ended up settling w/ 4.425ghz @ 1.325v after finding out my FIT voltage w/ prime 95 and HWINFO64. considering the 3600 can overclock to about 4.2-4.3ghz depending on the silicon characteristics of your chip, this processor probably isn't worth investing in -- that is, unless you're like me and you got it at roughly the same price as the 3600, which wasn't in stock on amazon at the time. the XT-line of Ryzen 3000 processors are notable for their generally higher-binned silicon than the non-XT lines of processors. at 4.425ghz all-core, i was able to meet the 3700X in multi-core performance using cinebench R20. that being said, the 3700X is still the better value processor than the 3600XT, and you get two more cores and four more threads to play with. this processor games very well but will probably hold back an RTX 3000/RX 6000 series graphics card -- i'd recommend if you're going this route, that you overclock your RAM to 3600 mhz and your FCLK/UCLK to 1800 for better performance -- this processor will do even better with faster DDR4. the timings also matter, but i'd say as long as your kit supports CL16/CL18, you'll probably be fine. the lower, the better, but most people won't see a huge performance increase between CL16/18 and CL14. NOTE: if you're overclocking this processor, please run prime95 @ 128 minimum FFT size with all frequency settings at stock and w/ only PBO enabled, then check the SVI current voltage in HWINFO64 and monitor that -- when it drops after roughly 5-10 minutes of prime95 you'll be able to see your FIT voltage, which is basically the built-in "safe" voltage limit AMD processors can withstand without significant degradation. mine sat at around 1.337v -- make sure your vcore is set to something below this value. you can use load line calibration if your motherboard supports it to reduce vdroop -- please do a little research before doing this. don't want to degrade your cpu. keep in mind that we don't actually know the max "safe" voltage for ryzen 3000. the FIT voltage is just what the processor knows is safe based on running w/ PBO turned on.

Excellent performer
I have this processor running on a Gigabyte AORUS X570 Extreme (which is MASSIVELY overkill) and the best I can get out of it is 4.525GHz @ 1.35v all core under full load. This is a win because the stock single core boost clock for my cpu is 4.5GHz so to have all 6 cores (12 threads) running not only at full single core boost speed, but even a little over AND at a lower voltage is awesome.........I'll take that any day. Stock voltage out the box under load was over 1.4 volts. Cooling is a Noctua NH-D15 and at full load during stress test my max package temp is 78C in a room that's 25-26C ambient. Great little budget processor. As far as the motherboard, I have the AORUS Extreme but you can get the same performance out of a board that's less than half the cost with no problem. These AMD processors just don't use all that much power. Even during a heavy stress test, which isn't real world use, the highest power consumption from the CPU was 103W. That's not much at all. In regards to memory, which is VERY crucial to cpu performance, I am running a set of Corsair low profile 8GB x 2 (16GB total) 3600MHz C14 ram. In my opinion this is the absolute best ram you can pair with the 3600XT. It hits the sweet spot of 3600MHz to keep the ratio between the ram and memory fabric at 1:1 and also has super low latency of C14 which I have yet to find anywhere else. No, there’s no flashy RGB but what do you want, ultimate performance or flashy lights.........that’s up to you, lol. Cinebench R20 score is 4012 by the way. May As Well Buy This Over the 3600/3600X
When this first launched it was a good bit more expensive than the 3600/X, making it not worth the cost. But now it is only marginally more expensive, making it totally worth it, imo. With this you'll get boosting up to 4.5 Ghz (or even higher if you have water cooling). This is a good bit more than the 3600X and even more still than the 3600. Basically the 3600XT is a 3600X that has better quality silicone and is factory overclocked even more. This chip beats even an overclocked 3600 out of the box. No overclocking required. The 3600 series is right where the average desktop user wants to be. If you're not doing heavy production work, then there is no reason to go with the 37/38/39 series. If you're a regular user who games and what not, this will be perfect for the next few years. And when the 4000 series comes out, you can upgrade (unlike Intel, AMD does not change sockets every darn year). The 4000 series will be compatible with most recent AM4 motherboards (check your board's manufacturer website). Anyway, this is a step up from my old Intel 6600K. This chip is beating even the 10600K in many multi-threaded workloads (though it is slightly behind in gaming FPS). Not bad considering this is cheaper than the 10600K. There is almost zero reason to buy an Intel part right now. While they were massively ahead of AMD pre-Ryzen, they have fallen off. AMD is eating Intel's lunch. And it seems Intel is nowhere close to having their 7nm fabrication process ready to compete. (Ryzen is 7nm). Intel has publicly announced it will be a couple YEARS (which boggles my mind how they did not see this coming). Intel even went out and hired AMD's chief engineer behind Ryzen (he has since quit Intel).

for the price i paid
When i got this it was 233 u.s. AFTER tax applies. with that being said it was WELL worth what i paid considering the non x/xt versions go for 200/230 daily in most sites. my cinabench r20 scores are in the screenshot im also running a EK 240mm aio with push config msi X570 gaming edge wifi board 2tb NVME 8200SX pro (before the misshap with switching controller chips) (still a GREAT nvme drive) this cpu far exceeded my expectations considering i did downclock it tho for heat reasons (i belive the after market backplate may be a cause unsure atm) then again 4.6 ghz at 1.37 volts to pass ALL and any stress test i threw rather it be PRIME 95, aida 64(only took 1.27volts tho) use TM5 by 1usmus and HCI memtest pro for making sure my ram overclock was right (tforce 3200C14) got it for cheap on amazon as well. if you can get this cpu for under 240 its worth it imo. granted your not already on a 3600 or 5000 cpu or higher. hopefully amazon thinks this review is worthy of posting this time around as ive wrote it 9 times or so and everytime they DENY?

Fantastic CPU for a gaming PC
I was originally shopping for a 3600 or 3600X, but the supply dried up by the time I was buying my parts. However, I think I ended up lucking out because I got the 3600 XT for less than the $249 MSRP. The reviews I've seen have been a bit mixed about the cpu, but I think it's a great sweet spot giving you enough cores for good productivity work and great single core boost to support gaming and other single threaded / spikey tasks. There's also a lot of overclocking potential with this cpu. I have mine stable at 4.4 GHz, but I think I can probably get it up to 4.5 GHZ with a bit more tinkering. My motherboard (MSI Gaming Plus) is not ideal for OC either. The cpu itself is a great overlocker and lots of folks are comfortably running this at 4.6 GHz with relatively low voltage. If you can get this on a good sale and aren't looking for the latest 5000 series cpus, then I would recommend grabbing this one. It's a fantastic cpu that I would use again in future builds.

Huge performance increase

Loads Fortnite faster than my wife's Xbox One X 110-130 FPS on ultra settings On world of tanks 120-140 fps on max settings.

Does not come with wraith spire cooler!
I give the CPU 5 stars in itself. It's blazing fast. I put the Ryzen 7 3rd gen in the PC I built for my dad and you can hardly tell a difference. The reason I docked a star is that this said it comes with the wraith spire cooler and it does not. My dad's Ryzen 7 came with the wraith spire cooler and that is a beefy air cooler! It's got lots of copper heat pipes, a very substantial fan, and I believe RGB lighting as well. I'd totally feel comfortable cooling my CPU with that. This comes with the wraith stealth cooler. Aluminum block, no heat pipes, tiny little fan (80mm I think) and no fancy lights. SUPER easy to install, but not up to my standards. Thankfully I had a Corsair AIO liquid cooler on the FX-8350 CPU I was replacing and I still had all the hardware that came with it. That also fit the AM4 socket pretty easily so I was able to use that and still have my fancy light display! If you buy this CPU plan on buying another cooler with it, or stopping by my dad's house to get the Wraith Spire cooler that he's not using. I liquid cooled the machine I built for him as well. Paid the price of a Intel i5-10500 (LOCKED) and got performance of a i5-10700k
AMD - Is currently the king. For the Price I paid 7/2020 $220 to get a comparable Intel i would get a crappy i5-10500 (LOCKED) or spend 120 more to get 7-10% performance of an intel i5-10700k (Unlocked) 1. Price = Better 2. Performance = Same (5-10% game slower but 20-25% general windows application use) 3. Heat = Better 4. Current Gen Tech = Better (pci4, 7nm) 5. Cores = Same 6. RAM Speed = Better Honestly the Intel lineup is outdated and just remodeled old gen hardware. Example i5-8700k is a rebranded i5-10700k but cost only $100. I want current gen tech when I buy a NEW product. AMD PCI4.0 M.2 speeds, 7nm Process. Not a relabeled old product slightly tweaked. Intel is YEARS behind on this and cant catch up but still charges the same pricing. AMD is current on their development track unlike Intel. I recommend AMD. Intel was my choice back in 8000 series but they lost it 2 years ago when AMD introduced the 7nm. Intel needs get their game together. They are currently ripping off the customers to resell the same products relabeled.

e' da circa 3 anni che e' installato ed ancora dice la sua ottimo processore con l’architettura in modo da aumentare la frequenza ma senza aumentare drasticamente il consumo. Questo processore ha 6 core e 12 thread che indicano il numero di processi effettivi che il processore può gestire contemporaneamente, con una frequenza base di di 3.8 GHz e una frequenza boost di 4.6 GHz e supporta una velocità memory clock di 3200 MHz, ha una cache totale di 35 MB e arriva ad un consumo massimo quando è in sovraccarico di 95 W ma include già un sistema di raffreddamento Wraith Stealth che permette di utilizzare a lungo il pc senza problemi di surriscaldamento nell' utilizzo la temperatura stava intorno a 60/65°...... prodotto consigliato.👍👍

Upgrade for my i5 7600k
Definitely upgrade for my i5 7600k. The cooler included is high rpm and a bit on the noisier side. The cooler keep the temperature though, but not recommend for heavy oc.

Heißes Teil mit aggressivem Boost
Meine aktuelle AM4-Plattform neigt sich so langsam ihrem Lebensende entgegen. Die einzelnen Komponenten habe ich immer wieder bei Bedarf nachgerüstet. Zuletzt hatte ich die Kombination von einem R5 2600 mit einer 2070S. Das hat zwar funktioniert, aber die CPU war klar der limitierende Faktor. Bis zu dem Zeitpunkt, wo ich das System ausmustre, wollte ich wenigstens noch eine etwas potentere CPU mit passendem RAM verbauen. Nach reichlicher Überlegung habe ich mich für den 3600XT entschieden. Meiner Meinung nach war vor allem der niedrige Basistakt des 2600 ein Problem und in Anbetracht dessen, was ich auf dem Board noch nachrüsten konnte, schien mir die 3600er Reihe die naheliegendste Lösung. Zusätzlich habe ich noch 3200er RAM gekauft und hinsichtlich Preis/Leistung war das für mich noch vertretbar. Nach dem Einbau war ich dann erstmal geschockt und habe direkt einen neuen Kühler gekauft, weil die Temperatur im Idle bei knapp 60°C lag. Das hätte ich mir schenken können, denn der kühlt das System auch nicht weiter runter. Dafür geht die CPU aber auch nur selten mal über 80°C und in dem Fall ist das der Umstellung des Fertigungsprozesses von 12 mm auf 7 mm beim Wechsel von Zen+ auf Zen 2 geschuldet (mehr Leistung auf dem gleichen Raum). Was mir beim Monitoring aufgefallen ist, ist der sehr aggressive Boost. Sobald man den Mauszeiger bewegt boosten gerne alle Kerne aufs Maximum. Den Leistungszuwachs spüre ich deutlich und bei einigen CPU-lastigen Anwendungen kann ich den auch auf den CPU-Wechsel zurückführen. Quantifizieren möchte ich das nicht, weil ich ein BIOS-Update durchführen musste und den RAM gleich mitgetauscht habe. Die Vergleichbarkeit ist hier meiner Meinung nach nicht gegeben. Dafür fällt mir aber z.B. in Spielen ein überproportionaler Performancegewinn auf, was mir zumindest den vorherigen CPU-Flaschenhals hinsichtlich der 2070S aufzeigt. Vielleicht noch ein paar Worte hinsichtlich Preis/Leistung speziell zur 3600er Reihe. Wenn man mich fragt wer den 3600XT braucht würde ich sagen: (fast) niemand. In meinem speziellen Fall war klar, dass mir 6 Kerne reichen, ich mehr Basistakt brauche und auf 3200er RAM aufrüsten möchten will. Das alles sollte auch nicht die Welt kosten und dadurch hat sich die 3600er Serie fast von allein ergeben. Der 3600 taktet von 3,6 bis 4,2 GHz, der 3600X von 3,8 bis 4,4 GHz und der 3600XT von 3,8 bis 4,5 GHz. Dabei beträgt der Preisunterschied zwischen den einzelnen Modellen jeweils etwa 20€. Wo man beim 3600X gegenüber dem 3600 vermutlich noch einen messbaren Leistungsgewinn finden kann, da liegt er beim 3600XT gegenüber dem 3600X selbst rechnerisch bei gerade mal ~2% bezogen auf den Boost. Beim Überfliegen einiger Benchmarks hat sich ein grober Performancegewinn von 5% zwischen dem 3600 und 3600XT abgezeichnet. Bei 40 € Preisunterschied macht das aber eine Preisdifferenz von ca. 20% aus. Damit möchte ich die CPU nicht schlecht reden, denn ich bin sehr zufrieden damit. Ich will nur verdeutlichen, dass man bei Verfügbarkeit aller 3 Prozessoren und ohne übertackten den Mehrwert für sein Geld abwägen sollte.
