Planet Light Pro 400-Watt Super HPS Grow Light for Horticulture Indoor Gardening and Hydroponics (E39, Full Spectrum, 51000 Lumen, 24000 Hour Lifespan)

Here is the lowdown on lightbulbs. You either get one that functions or you get one that doesn't. 99% of the time the reason you get one that doesn't is because during S&H the box got thrown around by UPS or FedEx. That being said, this is a great deal for a 1000w HPS ($29 with shipping). This bulb says it puts out 140,000 lumens initially which is about 10,000 lumens higher than many HPS bulbs out there. Mine startup fine the first time and warmed up within about 90 seconds to full intensity with my Apollo Purple Reign ballast throwing 1050watts at it. Very bright, plenty to illuminate a 4' x 4' tent. I'm currently growing 10 plants each in 3 gallon pots full of FoxFarm Ocean, averaging about 30" tall and buds are already filling in great with visible resin at just 16 days flowering. So yea, I've had this light going for 16 days, 12 hours a day now and it's going strong with no problems.

I've only grown with the best 1000w HPS bulbs, which is the Hortilux Super HPS bulbs. Since we keep having power surges and I keep losing ballasts & bulbs, I figured I would try some cheaper bulbs.. and to my surprise I can't tell the difference between Planet Light HPS 1000w bulbs & the Hortilux Super HPS 1000w bulbs, neither can the plants. BEST BULBS AT A KILLER PRICE!!! I'm a commercial grower with over a decade of experience, with all the HPS lamps on the market, this is the only one I would choose besides Hortilux Super HPS, which are twice as much here on Amazon, & retail @ $120 MSRP in HYDRO SHOPs... these PLANET LIGHT HPS BULBS ARE WORTH EVERY CENT OF THE $29.99!!! Hands down!

SUPER BRIGHT SO FAR SO GOOD...I've only been using it for a couple of weeks though.UP DATE 01\29\16 In my 7 years of growing I do feel this light is BY FAR the brightest 1000w hps I have used. other brands claim to give 120,000 to 130000 lumens. I dont know! I dont have a light meter that goes up that high so I just took thier word for it. This lamp BLOWS THEM AWAY (Im guess now) Its about 25% brighter than any other brand new bulb that Ive bought in the past. NOW WITH THAT SAID I HOPE THAT IT CAN WITH STAND THE ACID TEST...THE TEST OF TIME. One year isn't unreasonable ...its rated foe 24000 hours. To be continued. One very happy ass customer!

I haven't gone a full season on this one yet but I can say that it is a nice bulb for my needs. Works great, came in good time, price was right. Will buy again when I need another.

Was expecting a Much Much, Much higher electric bill. I think they have come a long way with these lights. I must have thought they would be like the ones years and years ago. Ordered 4, and they all came packaged great, none broken.

I have to add something to my first reveiw: I ordered 2 HPS bulbs and they sent me 1 metal halide and one hps. Luvky for me the metal halide never worked at all!!!! Nothing. Cool cooler on bulb but did not do more than turn purple. Can't believe it was my back up that failed straight out the box. Wonder if Planet Light pro will replace.

All seems well. Bought as back-up. Won't need for 2 months. Will update.
