D'Addario Woodwinds Rico Hemke Soprano Sax Reeds, Strength 2.5, 5-pack

I like the flexibility and ease of play for Hemke reeds. I recently found that I can also use this exact same reed on my Eb sopranino clarinet. Works great especially in upper ranges.

I’ve used these reeds for 30 years. For me they play right out of the box. I can play a four hour gig with no warm up. The quality is great!

Rating above average. They have improved the tonal quality on my Soprano, but lack that "little extra" to make it superior rating.

Played well right out of the box, no need to work the reed

I use these on a Yamaha 5c with Kmise leather ligature on my Taishan Winds curved soprano and find that they don't need all the filing and pre use manipulation that I expected. I do a paper rub and wetting before playing and I'm very happy with the responsiveness and the resonant sound.

First time soprano sax player and I started with these reeds. I got a very good sound with them considering my lack of experience.

This used to be a consistently excellent reed, beautiful tone, great response, most reeds good out of the box… but the quality fell off late last year. They are noticeably less dense, the cut is uneven, the wood feels cheap and even chips easily, and when I play them the tone is dull. The new reeds are stamped on the top, like in this picture. The old reeds, which were great, were stamped on the opposite side. I still have a few old reeds, and the difference is night and day.I’ve been playing 27 years, and I’ve played enough reeds to know how important a quality reed is. Save your money and look elsewhere

I purchased these on Amazon as my local music store would take 5 business days to get them in. The price was right and I actually came out way ahead because it was cheaper this way and I didn't have to go pick them up! The reeds worked perfectly and arrived quickly.

Las cañas son excelentes anteriormente probé las royal by daddario pero escogí medida 1.5 la cual me dificultaba las notas altas a partir del re en el soprano, puesto que es muy delgada, pero compre estas medidas 2.0 y ahora puedo tocar mas cómodo y ejecutar las notas altas sin tanto esfuerzo.No le doy 5 estrellas porque no ofrecen cañas sueltas para probar y no tener que comprar una caja.
