Well made, easy to use.
I purchased 8 NRS (Northwest River Supplies) 15 foot x 1inch wide rubberized thumb clamp straps to secure my 50lb Lifetime Guster kayak (10 feet long) to the roof of my suv. They have performed perfectly. There is lot of excess strap so 12 feet is plenty long. I use the excess to tie knots with contiguous straps in the event of strap failure or clamp failure (both highly unlikely as these are well made). They are also UV resistant but can fray over time. You can buy the strap without the rubber protector around the clamp but it prevents the steel of the clamp from scratching your water craft and is low added cost. Highly recommend. I have 3 bilateral holes on my roof rack in addition to front and rear kayak handles so 5 belts could do the job safely if cinched tightly (correctly).

Great straps for a boat
Worked flawlessly for securing an aluminum canoe to my yakima roundbsr rack from kansas to ohio. No slippage no tightening along the way.

If you want your cargo to arrive securely...trust NRS.
When your cargo absolutely, positively has to make it to your destination strapped to your roof rack overnight....go with the top of the line...don't risk your high-end fishing kayak, cargo, surfboards, SUP's to the cheapest straps on the market...get something you can trust to hold tight! High quality, solid clasp clam/jaws, and heavy duty webbing. Worth the extra $$ for peace of mind.

Unbeatable Durability and Simplicity – NRS Straps Are a Must-Have for Any Pickup Owner
After using NRS Straps for tying down loads in my pickup truck, I can confidently say they’ve earned a permanent spot in my gear kit. Whether I’m hauling lumber, camping gear, kayaks, or furniture, these straps get the job done better than any ratchet strap I’ve used in the past. I have just about every length strap in my truck wherever I go. NRS offers various lengths (I use mostly 9’ and 12’ straps), and each comes with a handy label for the size sewn right into the tail—no guessing. They also roll up neatly and stow easily in a glove box, toolbox, or behind the seat. Way more compact than a bunch of tangled ratchet straps.

High quality, no stretch
NRS straps are the best. They don't stretch, and they last forever. Don't bother with nylon straps as they need constant readjusting because they stretch. NTS poly straps stay put. Also, it's worth it to get the straps with the rubber bumpers on them to keep from scratching your car if your a kayaked. I keep some in my car because they have so many good uses

NRS ROOF RACK STRAPS
These are good quality roof rack straps. NRS products do not disappoint. The function of the buckle is heavy-duty and also has a silicone cover that protects your car or items that you strap down from scratches also the strap itself is tightly woven and very ridged. Would recommend for kayaks, surfboards, ect.

Compare favorably to Thule
Recently got these to replace Thule straps I've been using constantly for years. Some comparisons: Much thinner than the Thule (but no doubt adequate for holding a kayak). Better stitched than the Thule. Does not seem to absorb water or stretch when wet as much as the Thule. Much cheaper. The bumpers are nice. I would rather buy NRS which is trusted in paddlesports across the country than some Chinese Amazon knock off brand garbage.
