I have been looking for a while for a genuine UVC lamp for a while and as you know the internet is rife with fakes. This one is genuine and I have banana tested aka Big Clive's with good results.The ozone smell is very strong even after a 5 minute on but dissipates over 20 minutes or so. I would recommend opening a window for a short while after use.Ozone will get everywhere whereas UVC light will be obstructed by objects in the room. For me this is the ideal combination as I want to get germ destruction even under kitchen cupboards.Although not mentioned in the description it includes a timer adapter and remote control which is a bonus.With the timer adapter attached to the bulb and inserted into a table lamp (ES, E27) my adjustable head was not able to hold it in the upright position due to weight and length of the combined unit. I will be getting an E27 Batten holder and attaching to a wooden base to overcome this and retain portability. Of course if you have a pendant with the E27 holder or use an BC to E27 adaptor then this is not an issue. The orientation of the bulb is not critical to its use but an upward or downward position will allow the light to dissipate more evenly.In summary a genuinely good product at a reasonable price from a UK seller that delivers well packaged and fast.I will be purchasing more of these for my friends who are concerned about Covid 19.

This lamp is a must-have for added protection against Covid-19's new variants now sweeping the UK and Europeancountries. Whilst like the current vaccines this wont eliminate the virus it acts quicker in its attempts to minimisethe risk of infection. Vaccines take a number of weeks to buid up some immunity and are so far not proven in theireffectivness because the science is such new territory - no-one knows. Yet these lamps serve ONE main function i.e.production of concentrated Ultra Violet light which for decades is known to be able to destroy any forms of virusilluminated by this lamp _ That is why my whole family and myself depend greatly on this lamp's ability to do this.

I believe these lamps work, as you can smell ozone when it is on. However, I decided to return mine for the reason it did not feel very safe. This kind of lamps should not be taken lightly. They can damage your eyes and can even be carcinogenic. I thought the lamp would come with a remote control to reduce contact with the ozone emission, but it didn't have one - instead, you push the button and then leave the room quickly while it is switching on.

The remote control does not work. This is the 2nd one I ordered that is faulty.I couldn’t return the first one as the Hermes website wasn’t working!

My fault I should of read the details, at 185NM this UV bulb will produce a fare amount of ozone which is great if you don't want to enter the room for the next 4 hours.

It failed to work after 3 usages, no UV light or ozone smells. It's in very bad quality.
