The King of Swing!
Great music received on time and in described condition. For a compilation of this type, this one was well conceived. It begins with his theme song "Let's Dance," continues with several of his well known hits including the long version of "Sing, Sing, Sing," and ends with his sign off song "Goodbye." Spend an hour with this big band and jazz icon, and you'll be a fan!

A MUST HAVE ALBUM FOR ANY COLLECTION
MY GRANDFATHER INTRODUCED ME TO BENNY GOODMAN MUSIC LONG AGO. I'AM GLAD HE DID. THIS ALBUM HAS THE MOST REQUESTED SONGS HE MADE. THIS WAS "THE BIG BAND ERA" AND THIS ALBUM IS WELL WORTH THE MONEY. INCLUDES A EXTRA LONG VERSION OF " SING, SING, SING" LIVE,A 12 MINUTE BIG BAND BOOGIE. A MUST HAVE FOR ANYBODYS COLLECTION.

Excellent music, mediocre sound quality
If you're new to Benny Goodman, I would recommend a boxed set or double CD in order to get the full flavor of his music. This disc is skimming the surface of his great catalogue and the sound quality is average, at best. The remastering of these songs is sub par, especially on the vocal tracks like "Why Don'tcha Do Right?" The live songs from the Carnegie Hall '38 concert are similarly flawed and sound better on other CD's. It's hard to hear Krupa's magnificent percussion and if you aren't hearing Gene, you aren't experiencing the magic of the man or the band.A Benny neophyte would be well served by this standard "Greatest Hits" package but again, I caution you on the sound quality.

Love "The Coffee Song"
I needed this for one song "The Coffee Song,", so have not listened to the whole thing, but boy is that one song fabulous.

Some of the best of the "Big Band Era"
This is some great music for anyone who enjoys "big band" music. This compilation includes pieces from the 1938 live performance at Carneigie Hall..........pieces that have had their soundtracks "cleaned up" digitally........they are a joy to listen to.........I was too young to experience Benny Goodman when he and other big band performers were at their peaks.........but, I love the music none the less.........
