Nice for cooking
Arrived on time. Nice for cooking, seems very accurate. Registers real time cooking temperature fast, Certainly priced right. Good product.

Bad Switch
It seems that most reviewers love this product but I can speak only for the item I received. I tried it on a cup of hot water and although not instant, it was quite fast and it seemed accurate. I turned it off and turned it back on. I had to press the switch 3 or 4 times before it came on. When it came time to actually use it for a roast in the oven it refused to turn on at all. Seems I got one with a faulty switch. I returned it and ordered a different brand.

Not quite instant
Although the reading is not instant, the temperature does rise a bit faster than my old thermometer. I like the digital reading, which I did not have before. The auto shutoff is great as I often forget such details. It's easy to read. My eyesight isn't as good as it used to be. The case protects the thermometer and keeps me from getting stabbed when I reach into the drawer. It was a good purchase.

STOPPED WORKING/FROZE AFTER 4th USE
purchased in Jan 28th 2016Used on fish and chicken breast a few times....it takes a bit for the temp to stop fluctuatingIts a bit cheap lookingas a girl my fingers are small but for a guy the buttons could be a problem....(round about the size of the top of a cocktail toothpick).The thermometer STOPPED WORKING yesterday when I checked the temp of a cup hot water for tea...( the temp & thermometer froze at 196F)...I can't return it...its past the 30 days...I will be contacting the seller but in reality who wants to deal with the trouble of replacing something that is not worth it...my next thermometer will from an actual store were a sales clerk can vouch for its quality.

Used for fried turkey, easy and accuate. Like the choice to used centigrade or farenheit

This is a digital thermometer, and not a great one. It is absolutely NOT an instant read. I don't have high expectations that it will last long.
