Happy Husband - Florida has lots of mosquitos
This is a great purchase for our area. We have so many mosquitos. Husband loves that it it light and easy to use while walking the dogs. He has also used this product out hunting and raved about it - which is why we made the home purchase.

I recently purchased a pair of Thermacell (Real Tree Camo & Holsters) devices and enough refills (2 - 4/12 Packs) to last my recent fishing trip. I had contacted Thermacell and shared my plan to have one strapped to each of the pedestal seats (fore and aft) of my 17ft Bass Boat. We never needed them until we finally decided to fish at night. As dusk came, so did the mosquitoes. We ignited or devices. No Good initially! We resorted to DEET. However, in about 10 to 15 minutes, the mosquitoes were not even hanging around. Something we never experienced with DEET alone. We could clearly smell the Citronella-like Odor of the Thermacell devices. I firmly believe that once they kicked in, they were effective. BUT WAIT… we were only there about one more hour. We called it a night and went in. The next night we ignited early in anticipation of the approach of mosquitoes, using the SAME PADS which only had about 90 minutes of burn time on them. They were still BLUE! We never could sense the same Citronella-like Odor? As the mosquitoes eventually hit, again we had to resort to DEET! My evaluation thus far is this. 1. For effective use, you MUST LIGHT UP EARLY with FRESH PADS! 2. USED PADS (even if still BLUE) the next night ARE NOT EFFECTIVE! Have DEET on hand as a backup. I will give them one more try on our next trip. We’ll see!
