This is a very nice starter decorating cake stand with a non-slip surface. It is a very simple design where you can tilt the cake by turning the neck of the cake stand. This makes decorating a cake much easier than trying to do it alone with no revolving cake stand. Getting a cake on and off the stand is not a big deal if you put a piece of cardboard and sheet of paper on the stand before putting your cake on top. I would like to give this cake stand 4 and 1/2 stars, but there is no half stars, so I will give it a 4. I feel that this decorating cake stand is sufficient for your regular home baker, but for the real serious cake decorators and pastry chefs, you will want one that is more heavy duty and sturdy with a smoother rotation. The rotation on this one was ok, but did not seem as smooth as I would like. This cake turntable included a bonus free gift of a fondant rolling pin at the time I purchased it.
