Great experience but difficult setup
My grandson loved this gadget in concept and enjoyed it in spite of some issues. We eventually got them worked out for the most part but it wasn't easy. The head strap is overly long and rather flimsy so he gave up trying to use it and just held the unit, which is fine for limited use. He also discovered that using the apps made for the device run down your phone battery pretty fast so you have to be prepared for that. The biggest problem though was that the button meant to cause the screen to be touched didn't work. We tried all sorts of things with no luck. I finally ordered another unit that was also highly rated. We could still use this one awkwardly by sticking a finger inside to touch the screen when needed but hardly an ideal solution. After I'd ordered the other one I finally discovered the problem with this one. The piece that was suppose to release when the button was depressed was stuck behind another piece of cardboard. Once released it worked fine most of the time, but still gets stuck periodically and has to be released manually each time. The concept is great and the virtual experience is really amazing so it was still worth 4 stars, but that's all. Apparently the problem we had isn't terribly common because we couldn't find any info on how to fix it. Once I figured out what the problem was it seemed obvious, not even unusual for something made out of cardboard, but without any instructions to give us an idea of what to expect and how it was suppose to work we fumbled around for quite a while before discovering what was wrong. Happily it wasn't a huge investment but overcoming the problem definitely took the edge off the fun birthday gift experience.

When I bought them I didn't really know what I was looking for aside from some sort of cheap and dirty VR. This cardboard comes
Man oh man, these things rock. I bought four for myself and a few friends. When I bought them I didn't really know what I was looking for aside from some sort of cheap and dirty VR. This cardboard comes assembled which is a plus and aside from having to peel off a few protective stickers on the glasses part, it's ready to rock and roll out of the package. My only gripe would be the comfort aspect and the QR code they used for this setup. I'm using an iPhone 6 and maybe it's the size of the screen or the thickness of the case on my phone but using the QR code setup that came with this cardboard leaves a lot to be desired. No worries though, a quick search for a list of all QR code sets, a couple trial and errors, and I found one for a different cardboard that works way better with this one. The comfort level of this thing however is awful! The bridge of my nose was near bleeding after 10 mins of use. Again, a quick fix. You know those sponge paintbrush things at hardware stores? Buy one of those for a buck, snip the sponge part off the wooden handle, cut it vertically, pull out the plastic inside and attach it to the nose area of the cardboard and you've got yourself a comfortable padded viewer.

Ok-ish
Works as intended. I just find the sticky parts that adhere to the cardboard sides and top just come off too easily. For a few more dollars (like $3 - $5) just get the plastic ones that are made better. I have an iPhone 6, and the resolution sucks for VR. You can see pixels. Imagine your resolution divided by 2. So if you have around 768p, then thats 384p per eye. Yup its not that great and I see the pixels. Also I didn't find enough good quality high resolution VR content anyway. I think wait a little more or get an Android phone.

Great introduction into VR, Just not a permanent piece of equiptment.
I understand these are cardboard headsets and they are worth the money if you want to see what VR has potential to be! However if you are familiar with VR already I would definitely recommend spending a few more dollars and getting a headset that will have some support. The ridges of the cardboard make you not want to use it and if you want to use it often as I did, You will be looking for some electrical tape to smooth out the edges. Lenses could have been slightly larger as well to increase sharpness. All in all i was pleased with the level of quality this item gave me for the cost!

This product is truly amazing!
I didnt expect much, especially by the fact that it's cardboard. This exceeded all my expectations. Only downfall I had was that put a lot of pressure on my nose. But I placed a couple layers of medical tape, or any other cushioning would do. I would advise downloading trinus VR as you can make this google cardboard more versatile by having the capability to use this as a VR headset on your pc. Buy it! Don't miss out on your chance to experience a whole new world.

Product just doesn't fit right
I've used another one of these google cardboard products and fell in love. My friend got one for free as a Star Wars promotional item and it was pretty cool. Tried to get one in the same style and came across this one. The biggest issues I have is that the button on the top sticks. Feels almost like the cardboard is not fitting together properly and causing it to stick. For this reason the button is pretty useless. My other issue is the the picture is not nearly as clear as my friends free version. Don't know if it's because the lenses are the the correct strength or the distance from the lenses to the phone screen is not correct distance. Either way, I will be ordering another brand and using this one as cardboard fire starter for our next camping trip.

This is super annoying and it is a serious problem
I don't understand why others are giving this a 5* review when the straps clearly don't work. There's literally no way to use them! This is super annoying and it is a serious problem. Please people, if a product doesn't actually function as intended don't give it 5 stars!!! Also - the construction is poor - one of the velcro pieces fell off when putting this together. There are so many options for these - look elsewhere!

WOW! VR IS AWESOME!
This was a great product. The only downside was there was no nose protection. I had to use another shirt as a covering for it. Other than that, it's an amazing product.
