In my experience the filament longevity is a problem, if like most people you ever turn the light on and off. I've had multiple bulbs burn out within the duration, and always after turning the light off. The thermal contraction must be doing a number on the fragile filament. (I've installed these correctly with a napkin, as not to leave an oil film on the bulb, which is also known to be a issue with halogen bulb durability).

They get really hot. I have a whole bank of them right above my sink, and they get hot enough to feel and I'm worried about burning them out or burning the fixture. I just have to make sure I don't leave them on

If these bulbs last 4 years, this pack should do for 40 years - at least! LOLFWIW, those who think of getting a LED version, DO NOT! LED bulbs, although compatible in size and shape, they are not suitable for high temp! Use your fav search engine to read more.So, halogen is the only safe option for stoves.I also noticed this one is brighter than OEM bulb. The manufacture sells these $21 each!Last but not least, you can find 100s if not thousands sellers on Amazon selling the same exact bulb! Find the cheapest one - they all are made in China and same factory! A few hours searching on Amazon, I believe this one is as cheap as you can find.
