I had already heard the other 3 Audience records and they are also so very good, and so hearing this lost one make me ...
One of the greats of its particular sub-genre, along with Mr. Fantasy, Music From A Dolls House, Stand Up, Salty Dog....you need to hear it. I had already heard the other 3 Audience records and they are also so very good, and so hearing this lost one make me re-appreciate them overall.

Finally on Vinyl
My vinyl audience collection is finally complete thanks to Lilith Records. Very good quality sound. Too bad it did not have liner notes. Saw them twice in Winnipeg 4 years ago, something that I thought would never be possible. It even came with a bonus CD of the first release by Audience, which I didn't need since I ordered it from an Amazon seller years ago.

What it sounds like when the quintessential songwriter records with equally brilliant virtuosos.
I first heard Audience in the very early '70s with the incredible "House On The Hill" album and I promptly beat a path to my local record outlet and purchased both that album and Lunch.I now have 5 Audience albums and they are all exceptional.Howard Werth is one of the most brilliant songwriters that I have ever had the pleasure to listen to and being a gigging musician myself since 1969,it takes an exceptional songwriter to leave me gobsmacked and Werth has done that with this first Audience album and the 4 albums that followed. If you feel like listening to the quintessential songwriting titan and a group of equally brilliant virtuosos,do yourself an enormous service and buy this landmark album as well as those that followed it.If any group ever was worth going out and buying their entire recording output in one fell swoop,Audience is that group.

Interesting and fun
I wasn't familiar with this album until recently, though I've been familiar with Audience's other albums since they came out in the early 70's. It's a lot like their other work except the songs are shorter and there's a bunch of them crammed in here. Obviously the band took the approach of expanding on their songs after this album. Nonetheless for anyone who may be familiar with Audience's other albums, this one offers up a very enjoyable listen.

Audience black album
A cult classic from my youth and a joyous reminder of a band that was uniquely different and just starting out. They were impossible to classify then and still are now. Art rock was the accepted category but that barely scatches the surface. I just found that Audience filled all the requirements that my musical appetite desired back then. This re-mastering is brilliant and while some of the tracks now may seem outdated I still love it.

Essential Listening...!
This is a seriously underrated band! These guys used to open up for Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd! Queen and Genesis used to open up for these guys! Audience are absolute essential listening. Also look out for their masterpiece ‘House on the Hill’ Audience are simply brilliant!

as imaginative as Supertramp, as entertaining as the Beatles, and as Fresh as Dave Mathews I give you AUDIENCE
I had always considered other discs the start of Audience's career when I saw the bio for this disc I simply had to have it for I have all the other material and love it very much especially "HOUSE ON THE HILL" I first was brought to that when it was in LP format and Keith Gemmell was still doing the sax/ clarinet work and he was fantastic...imagine how surprised I was when I played this the first of their works and found the same song on this. what the brainchildren of Audience did was take the song and center it around an entire Theme style LP. It is still one of my very favorite discs. The way it is presented here is every bit as good as the second presentation. If you have never heard of AUDIENCE it would not surprise, they are a prog rock band from the 70's however that is no reason for you to avoid them...They are great and will definitely please, whether on this disc or on House on the hill or any other of their fine CD's they deserve a place in anyone's collection for they truly are that good...So if you are feeling bored with your music these days I strongly suggest trying this it will never disappoint...Spigomars
