MoMA Modern House (MoMA Modern Kids)

I bought this for my eight year old niece and I helped her assemble it and we played with it together. It is a set of walls that are all five sided boxes that fit inside of each other. There are also several pieces of furniture to assemble, and many of the pieces can be reversed to change the color scheme. The construction is excellent and the furniture assembles very well. It is beautifully designed and my niece and I were both impressed with the number of creative options available.There is also a booklet that asks questions to get kids thinking about how to design living spaces. My niece loved that part the best because she naturally thinks about design and this gave her some guidance.I do wish that there was an add on set, because it really could use a few more walls and a bed. My niece was trying to design a functional house, and there were some missing necessities, so now she wants me to make some more walls and furniture with her next time we see each other. Sigh, I probably will.My sister (age 27), a designer, was really jealous and wants this set too.

My daughter has definite design tastes at 4 years old. She loves anything modern (she thought she died and went to heaven at ikea) and mini sized (her size). This toy is both!This set is essentially an updated version of colorforms crossed with an uber nifty dollhouse. I haven't been able to get it away from her. It does need an adult to put together the furniture and the parts are stiff paper so it should be a toy that is played with when an adult can keep an eye on the child. Not because it is a danger to the child, but to make sure it doesn't get beat up.

This was purchased for my niece. I have not heard any complaints. Seemed like a modern, novel take on an old concept.

How come you spend $100 on a toy and the kids never use it and then you find something like this that is so simple and they never want to stop playing with it?

its purrrrfect for any kid or architect or designer to built a modern play house. it's a very stylish home.

This is a beautiful set -- my 3 1/2 year old daughter received for Christmas, and it's definitely a bit too fragile for that young. My 5 1/2 year old son had no difficulty popping out the shapes and assembling, but I would recommend for an older or very detailed child as the items are delicate. The walls come stacked inside one another for a compact toy, but it is a puzzle and tight squeeze that I don't think they will ever go back in that way-- which is fine, just not as compact and inclusive for storage as I thought. Buy with the companion modern family set--which has a number of stickers to add hairstyles, clothes and accessories, as well as pets-- to inhabit your designed home.

Amazing! Fun for kids and adults alike :). Don't forget the play people that go in this, though...it's a separate item. Love me some mid-mod play stuff...and color forms - yay!

I gave the toy to a 10 year old girl and she loved it. I think it's also suitable for younger ages regardless if they are boys or girls. Good idea and beautifully done.
