Product simply works as it should
No hassles, no glitches. For me, it was a matter of plug and play. The only annoyance is that the LEDs, though appreciated, are too bright and in some situations, need to be covered. Any product with this as its main flaw is doing its job!

It just works
This is small, hides well behind the computer. And does exactly what it needs to you without any drivers

Does Not Work for Yamaha DGX-500 to Macbook Pro Catalina 10.15.5
I connected my Yamaha DGX-500 to my brand new Macbook Pro for use in Garageband. Unfortunately, only one note was able to be recognized every 3 or 4 seconds or so. I tested all the different ways to plug in the MIDI chords to make sure I wasn't doing something wrong. I found that the "IN" on the chord connects with the "OUT" on the keyboard. My macbook recognizes that there is a MIDI connection. However, either the keyboard itself is not compatible, or the chord is just not powerful enough to pick up and transfer all the notes. I also called Apple Support to make sure it wasn't something with the Mac or the Garageband App itself. Bummer!

Connect MIDI devices to your USB C computer
In the past, it was complicated to connect a MIDI keyboard to a computer. My old system used a MIDISport adapter and cables - not only more expensive for all the parts, but required special drivers and caused lots of compatibility issues. I spent a lot of time configuring the old system and it often required uninstalling and reinstalling drivers. This cable replaces all that. Plug the MIDI connections into the keyboard, plug the USB C connector into the laptop and you're connected. Well, almost.....For one thing, there are no directions included with the cable. After looking around on the Interweb, I found directions on the DigitalLife web site. It looks simple, but actually the cable marked"MIDI In" needs to be connected to the keyboard's "Out" port, and the "MIDI Out" needs to plug into the "In" port on the keyboard. There is no native program on your computer to allow the keyboard to "talk" to the computer. You need a special program to actually read, interpret the signal and make music. In my case, I downloaded a copy of Audacity - a free music creation program, available online, that has MIDI capability. Once I loaded the program I could play MIDI files on my laptop through the keyboard, and record from the keyboard into Audacity. This is a much less complicated way of using your electronic keyboard to play and record off a computer.
