WatchGuard Trade Up to WatchGuard Firebox T20 with 1-yr Basic Security Suite (WW)

I've managed professional firewalls from the big companies (like Cisco), and this T20 (I had a T10) is fantastic. It's a bit complicated for the average consumer, but it has features that make it a serious cut above. Support from WatchGuard is excellent. Their website is excellent. The performance of this unit is exceptional. Very highly recommended.

Purchased these as a trade-up from our existing firewalls. With the trade-up, you provide your existing devices serial, to which it replaces your existing device with the new device. However, when we did this - it not only asked us to re-register the serial number after purchase (a total of 2 times due to a processing error), but it voided the serial from being used in a future upgrade, and voided the product use with it's manufacturer.In short, this ended up costing us far beyond what was stated due to technical errors, resulting in a financial loss which is far vast to pin down- we can tell you that it was at least 3 times that of this items sales price (at the very least).

I upgraded to this unit from a T15. The difference in throughput is massive with basic security services turned on. Overall throughput would appear to have just about tripled from the T15 which was always under-powered even for a SOHO device.

When you do a Trade Up...you can trade up from ANYTHING...so, put in the serial of your 25 year old Linksys router and you are good to go (or invent one). This keeps your current devices functional....we went from over 500 WatchGuard devices (including AP's) to now we are getting rid of the AP's as they come up for renewal and replacing with Meraki....WG is playing too many licensing games with their end users.
