Best drain for basement work
We have been using these for years. Great when you can’t access below the shower. We leave the pipe long and use an inside pipe cutter to trim to the right height. These are awesome.

Item did not match picture, when ordered
I really wanted my drain to have a screw in drain cover. The picture showed just that, when I ordered. I received a snap in drain cover. Took a star off for that. The drain itself is fine.

No Caulk
No caulk is a plumbing term that refers to the way the pipe is sealed to the pipe not how the drain is sealed to the shower. A caulk type drain is sealed to the pipe by using oakum and lead to fill the void between the pipe and the drain. With this "no caulk" drain the pipe glues directly to the drain for a permanent seal.

what you see is NOT what you get!
I purchased this particular shower drain because the strainer fixed to the drain with 2 screws.and looks a lot nicer than the CHEAP stamped stainless strainer that came with this drainthe strainer just sits in the drain and is kinda held in place by gravity, and looks like junk.you do not get the strainer pictured on-line. very disappointing.

Good product but "false advertising"
I have installed one of these and believe it is a quality product. That said, it is NOT "No caulk" as they would have you believe. The installation instructions clearly state that a bead of silicone (what, that's not caulk?) must be used above the rubber sealing washer that is compressed under the shower base. If you buy this be sure to read the installation instructions carefully (available online if a printed copy is not included with the drain). It is also important to stub out the PVC pipe correctly so that the elastomeric gasket seats correctly.
