IT WORKS.
i was worried that i wouldn't be able to start on the GREEN model but after reading some reviews, perusing their site, decided to go for it. well...on the lowest setting possible without totally unscrewing the knobs off, i could Not even breathe in or out! but people have warned about this. so i kept at it a few times, and voila~~got a breath in. after a few min, was able to do the 10reps. i yoga, just started to swim, and always had issues w breathing control. also when i talk, my voice gets hoarse easily and feel i have to heave to get more breath in. after few wks of using this 2x a day as instructed, incrementally up'ing the resistance by a hairline, i am noticing the effects. the best evidence is, i can now hold my breath for ev other stroke for butterfly and i was not able to do that!! it is a muscle trainer. first time i use for the day, feels like my chest is too tight and it's hard to use. after a few breaths though, muscle warms up and i move along w the reps beautifully. it is hard to remember to use 2x a day, so some days i use only once. at first i noticed it helped me sleep deeper too. it's definitely worth the price and effort! i'm looking forward to graduating to the BLUE model.

Wait a while
PowerLung is a good item, but there is a bad batch out there. I got two of the greens through Amazon. They both have a manufacturing defect in the casting of the body. The male threads on the exhale feature are too big, so turning the adjustable cap (or cell) is very stiff. It won't screw all the way in at all. The inhale feature adjusts normally, with very little force required to twist it, so the problem is specific to the exhale threads.I have had a blue (highest resistance) model for some time, so I know how they should work. Another thing that's off is that the resistance level of the two new greens is close to identical to that of my blue. Green is supposed to be the second hardest level, and PowerLung claims there is no overlap in the resistance levels of the different colors. If you get one of these with the bad threads, Amazon's excellent customer service will take care of you, but I would wait a while to see if the bad batch gets replaced. If you try to resolve the problem with PowerLung's customer service, you won't find them as helpful as Amazon.A final strangeness is that the product description on Amazon says the green is the highest resistance, but that is not true. Blue is highest. Look at the PowerLung web site.Anyway, when you get a good one, PowerLung is a good trainer of lung muscle. Way over-priced, though.

Powerlung Trainer is Great!!!
I am currently in Iraq and it's almost impossible to get a good cardio workout in. We have some gyms, but most are crouded or the equipment is sub-par. So, I decided to try the Powerlung Trainer as an alternative Man...have I been impressed with how much better I feel! I've only had it about 3 weeks, and I an tell a big difference in how I breath! I think I've even lost a couple of pounds! The good thing is, it's easy to use and once you start...you don't want to stop!If you are thinking about buying a Powerlung product, and are a first-time user, I'd suggest the Powerlung Trainer model. I had to set mine on the lowest setting to start. So far, I've made an adjustment a week.Would I buy this again, Heck Yeah!!!C. MannFOB Cruz/Morris, Iraq

Now here is something that actually works
I have been using this for about a year now and I play tennis and this is my secret weapon to keep on battling when the other player is running out of gas. I use this once a day doing 10 inhale/exhales 3 times in about 5 minutes. The manufacturer recommends doing the whole thing two separate times a day and I'm sure the results would be even better but I just can't get around to doing it in the evening. Also as a teacher I just feel like I have greater lung capacity for talking all day. Yeah it is expensive but it is worth it if you actually use it!

Very difficult
I bought this item to recover from smoking and to help with my asthma. I got the item in the mail and even on the lowest settings I can barely pull air in. I went to the website to read about difficult inhalation and apparently it is a very prevalent problem because the muscles to inhale are quite weak.I think this product has some merit and I will stick with it. However, unless you are an advid runner I would get the level lower because you cannot return this item

It works !!!
I play squash 4 times a week. I always felt lot of pressure on my lung while playing. After using the Powerlung for a month, my breathing is better, the pressure while playing is almost gone. I recommend Powerlung to anybody who need to improve their breathing condition.
