I expected a 5.5 x 2.5 mm socket to manage high current, but the old one got uncomfortably hot. This power socket stays cool even at 5 amps. Just a heads-up, though: these don’t come with a third terminal for switching a battery source, so if that’s a must-have, look elsewhere. For my needs, it’s been great.

Solid, well-made, all perfect
The pack of 5 that I received were all made correctly (no reversed red and black wires as described by other reviewers). They were solid, well made, mated reliably and perfectly with the matching plugs, good friction when inserting the male plug into these sockets, made a reliable connection every time. The pigtails seem to be of or close to the gauge advertised. The came with matching mounting nuts and rubber caps with a loop to captivate them. I am an engineer and electronics experimenter / builder and was completely satisfied with these.

They work, but look really cheap.

Size is perfect
Use these plugs for several pieces of equipment, they are used with different DC power packs and the plugs from all fit without any problems. They are also different voltages from3v to 24v power packs and work perfectly.

Just what i orderd
Last purchase was not what I ordered. Meets my power requirements, the pig tails are long enough for the project I am using them on. No need to splice or cut them.

Not a fan.
It’s an odd size and I’m just not a fan. It works with my solar setup but I’m not thrilled. Also the wires are too thin. I’m likely going to swap this out with an X90 connector to my solar setup. YMMV.

Connector for power cord for Lionel lionchief
Connectors were well built, and had shrinkwrap on the connector to prevent shorts. I used this to use a Lionel lionchief transformer to a circular piece of track. I had to solder the connections in, but the steel track easily took a solder. Would upload picture but the things it wants access to are no go
