Essential book for Galapagos travel
If you are planning to visit the Galapagos Islands, you need this book. It has all the necessary info you need about each island, along with comprehensive sections on Quito and Guayaquil -- two cities where visitors will likely stay before flying to the islands. This is the only book I carried when my husband and I visited the Galapagos Islands in February. It is easy to read and follow. I only wished the book were bit lighter so I can carry it in my backpack. (As the book weighed almost a pound, I left it in my luggage.) Whether you are planning a visit or just curious, this book on the Galapagos (which means “tortoise” in Spanish) has chockfull of info on the endemic species that live on each island. Highly recommended!Side note: coincidentally, my husband and I had the pleasure of meeting the author, Lisa Cho, while cruising around the Eastern Galapagos Islands. She speaks fluent Spanish and knows the islands very well. Our trip to the Galapagos was a memorable one because, thanks to Lisa’s book, we were well prepared for our trip.

Perfect for land travel and short stay ideas on each of the four islands
Another gem from Moon! Just came back from Las Islas Encantadas and our travel was made richer because of this book. We opted for land travel and relied heavily on this book for activities and information. Not only does it provide the practical logistics but provides interesting tidbits about the historical background and interesting factoids. It also provides a compact section on wildlife as well as a useful information for the two gateway cities Quito and Guayaquil. Thank you Lisa!

I especially liked the Wildlife Guide chapter
We are in the process of planning our trip to the Galapagos Islands and plan to take Lisa's book with us. There is a wealth of information in it! I especially liked the Wildlife Guide chapter. Her pictures are amazing! If anyone has questions about the Galapagos Islands this is the book to purchase. It covers everything about planning your trip, choosing a tour, travel tips and includes helpful maps. Lisa has done her research very well!

Very useful guide
This was a great guide on our trip to the Galapagos, easy to understand, clearly laid out, glad we had it. Plus it gave us enough information about the gateway cities to get there that we were able to maximize our long layovers and get some extra sightseeing in.

You really don't need a full guidebook for travel to the Galapagos
Great book for what it is but you really don't need a full guidebook for travel to the Galapagos. This book was helpful in helping me decide NOT to go to the Galapagos based on the types of adventures there and the sole ways to see the various sights are extremely costly. Get a guidebook that combines Galapagos and Chile instead.

High-level guide, not very detailed
Useful guide to Galapagos, not a lot of detailed info, but good to take with us for quick reference and orientation. Nice page layouts and good organization.
