This is something you would find at a dollar store. Very thin and would not hold up and prevent a stray ember from catching fire. Just like an outdoor carpet For the price, I hoped it would be nice and thick and have some weight to it. This is nowhere near a good quality mat.

It was not even fire resistant. Small spark went straight through to my deck.

NOT worth your money. Was excited to get this product, once I unfolded and put in front of the chimney, didn’t even take an hour - had some sparks and immediately burned a hole in it. Not even a week has passed by and (picture) I need to find another solution. Three words - waste of money!

This product did not perform as advertised, it is presented as a fireplace hearth rug, “protects floors patio (sic) from sparks embers” and “protects fine floors, prevents scorching and burns”. Stray embers from our fireplace quickly burned holes through the rug (see photo). We have a stone hearth so there was no real damage. If the rug had been used on a wood floor, the embers would have ruined the floor.

Pictures on Amazon website very deceiving for this hearth “rug”. In no circumstances would this product qualify as a rug. It’s a very thin, rubber-backed, piece of “fire-resistant” carpet sample- no protective edging to finish into a “rug”. Amazon should be concerned its customers receive accurate product information and are pleased to do business with Amazon. This type of “misinformation” has happened before this current issue.

This product arrived folded into an 8" X 15" rectangle. Unfolded it, laid it flay for 30 hours. the 6 creases at folds seemed to be permanent. Product should have been rolled, not folded. Returned it to Amazon and got quick refund. Multiple reviews mentioned this issue. if it's not corrected, this item should not be offered for sale online and requiring delivery, unless they start rolling them up instead of folding.

The picture of the product doesn't quite represent the actual product. What I got was a lot cheaper and thinner than I expected based on the picture. But, I guess, it matches the price. It serves the purpose I intended. I am putting this under my grill to protect my deck from sparks and grease. I wouldn't put it in my house in front of my fireplace like the write-up indicated.

Well just received it ! So give it time! Would be careful of dropping anything heavy on it! An indent mark can be left behind but other then that it meets the needs of insurance companies of 19” and is easy to clean.
