It does what it claims, but small concern about the fan.
The temp and airflow up/down knobs are backwards. Sliding to the "minus" increases temperature or air flow. Starting temp is always 19 degrees Fahrenheit even at room temperature. After running the hot air gun for a few minutes and starting it up the temperature reading is close to room temperature but off about 25 degrees. The heater on LED light does not turn on when I increase the temperature till the reading on the display is 59 degrees fahrenheit. The temperature does go up to 800 degrees. It will go up to 830 degrees with the airflow at the lowest setting. It might go higher, but I didn't let it. With the heat set to its highest setting and the airflow at 50% the display reads up to 765~ degrees fahrenheit but no more. When I first turned on the hot air gun the temperature got to 150 degrees and I can hear something rattling around if I gently shake it. If I hold it flat to the ground and turn it I hear something being kicked around by the fan.It looks good. The grate at the top that prevents anything from getting into the heating coil is not set inside perfectly. It's a little lop sided, but that's only an aesthetic problem. It feels very durable and light. It has comfortable grip, although the grip is just a piece of foam wrapped around the unit. It takes about 1 minute 32 seconds to reach temperatures of 800 degrees Fahrenheit and only 2 minutes to cool down to 60 degrees after turning the heat off and airflow to maximum. The temperature drops to 20 degrees Fahrenheit completely.Only cons about my item is the rattling from something inside the fan. I'll be waiting for whatever this is to catch fire and or shoot out in a fireball whenever it finally gets dislodged.

I couldn't be happier
This unit is larger and somewhat heavier than the heat gun on my rework station, but I assumed it was going to be since everything is built into it. I purchased it to use when I'm not at my bench and man, it really fits the bill. Now I'm not forced to go to the bench all the time. I can even do a bit of work at the dinner table while watching TV. That's great. I would have to say I think this is one of the best investments I ever made in my equipment arsenal. I LOVE this unit!!!

Nice! Avoid this produce/seller
I used this once. The power switch no longer worked after a few minutes. Ok, no problem. I'll just request a new one. I asked Amazon for a replacement, but for some reason the option wasn't available. I could only be given a refund and had to rebuy. I was charged a stocking fee. Nice! Avoid this produce/seller.

Very nice device. Once you figure out how the temperature & fan speed are inter-related (lower fan speeds allow high temp and vice versa). Worked as advertised. Was able to remove multiple SMD parts from multiple boards with ease.

works well
works great for soldering and shrink wrapping. will it last the test of time? will see but so far so good. seems to be built well

Terrible Unit
Stopped working first time it was plugged in. Cheap crap, spend the money for something better.

Quit working after a month. Also it would stop heating randomly.
