Bought this to replace my 10 year old kitchen scale. So far it has been very easy to operate and accommodates numerous size bowls for measuring flour and water.

You can choose between ounces and grams. You can set a container on it, turn it on and it will read zero. Then add your food to the weight you want. Turn it on Then add the container and it will add it's weight to zero. This is a versatel scale for any weights up to about 6 pounds.

This is an excellent compact scale. The small size, 6 x 8 inches, is a great feature, as its weighing surface effectively accommodates large bowls & other containers without taking up a lot room . I selected this scale for two reasons: (1) It has a "separate" weighing surface. I found that most compact digital scales are essentially a single-piece construction, consisting the scale as the weighing surface, and the "legs" as the weighing mechanism. A few reviewers on this type of scales complained about the inaccuracy and inconsistency of scale reading. So I narrowed my selections to scales that carry their weighing surface on top. Among them the ESSENCE is an excellent choice, by looks, by price, and by functions. (2) It takes two AAA batteries, which are more convenient and less expensive to replace than the silver button types of batteries. I have used the scale regularly in the past week as one my tools in my bread-baking adventure. The operation is simple & straight-forward. I am happy with this purchase.

I only got this one because it had a 5 year replacement policy or something like that. Moved across states didn’t use for several months and this thing was dirty. I thought for sure the calibration was going to be off and I would have to request a new one. Much to my surprise it wiped down clean and works like new, still accurate as ever.

The scale seems to work accurately, so at least the most important function works.But it could be better. The biggest problem is the units. Not only are they hard to change because they're touch-based instead of a physical button, but they sometimes change on their own for no reason. It gets frustrating when I want half pound burgers and it switches to grams and has trouble switching back. Meh.The other thing is I have no idea how to turn it off. It seems to shut down on its own after 3 or so minutes of no use, but I don't know how to turn it off manually. Not a deal breaker, but I don't like leaving things on.For the price, it's decent, but for a little more, you could get one a little more sturdy.

This is a small kitchen scale that gets the job done. It seems to be fairly accurate. I haven't had any issues with it. It is easy to use, light weight and doesn't take up much space.

I like the convenience and accuracy.
