Teen Angst Overload
This series just gets weirder as it goes along. I have so many questions. Why is Bella paler than the vampires? Is Jacob allergic to shirts? Couldn't Edward have found a better way to spend the past 2 centuries than by continually going to high school?

Just stop...
Not sure how this was bought. But I do remember the torturous days of trying to spend time with my now wife by watching this dumpster fire of a movie with her. The only impressive part of this movie is that Stewart can keep the same expression for the entirety of the film. One last note... ladies... please stop forcing your significant others to watch this. Not even you really want to. So just don't. Go watch something good.

This Is the Reverse of How Love and Life Should Be.
This Is the Reverse of How Love and Life Should Be. They worship death and suicide. They hate life. The victim suffers from a severe case of Stockholm Syndrome, even when her abuser tells her to leave him. The parents are subservient to their own children. Mass murderers are given mass appeal as the good guys. The protectors of human life are given disrespect as the bad guys. This franchise should be called "Depression" or "Style over Substance". Parents, don't show this to your children. It is complete nonsense. I don't recommend this entire franchise. This might be a movie about the nightmares of being in abusive families, either foster-care or blood-related, with inappropriate dads and submissive/missing moms.

Decent adaptation of a YA Teen book
I bought this movie for my girlfriend because she is a book nerd and has to read the book before she sees the movie so it makes sense. She doesn't always say the book was better. Sometimes she likes the movie better. In this case, she thought they complemented each other. The movie follows the book closely. It has to condense some for time allowed, that why so many movies are cut up in two parts these days. The YA genre is full of paranormal romance. This story was a refreshing spin off the usual formula of teen angst with supernatural/futuristic elements. I have to say, that I watched it too and while I wasn't as engrossed in it as my girlfriend was, it was easy to follow, well-written, and had a strong leading player. I recommend this movie whether you have read the book or not. I am not team Jacob or Team Edward, but if you are team Jacob, you'll be happy with how much of the wolf pack is in this movie.

Would Recommend
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I am very satisfied with this purchase. I bought this movie as a gift for my mom as we both love twilight and the twilight saga and this was the last movie she needed to finish the collection. I didn’t know what to expect of the condition of the movie case was the condition is great. There were a few slight dents to the corners of the outside cover, but that just happens naturally and it’s hardly noticeable. The product looks like new and it was an unopened case that was still wrapped with no scratches to the plastic or cardboard outside (which is exactly the kind of condition you need for a collection). I’d highly recommend this seller again for anyone looking to buy this movie and it was delivered within a week or less of the date I ordered it.

Im a fan.
**SPOILERS**Eclipse is the end of the love triangle (as far as im concerned anyways) between Edward, Jacob and Bella. Eclipse: as usual these movies arent about any sub plots, there about whose going to get the girl. By the end of Eclipse.. and for that matter by the end of New Moon its Very clear that Bella has only got eyes for Edward and Jacob is chasing his tail (pun intended) still trying to win her love. Sure, sure there is the side story with the "newborn army" but thats all it really is, just a side story, a tie in, a little more plot. However this movie is very cool and earns 5 stars as we get back stories on Many Characters (they should have done this on BD#2) The question of who Bella will end up with is over and a new segment of this story starts (the proposal) and two more movies to show us how that new story line pans out. Eclipse is a good movie, the story changes and there are real developments. Yes its a little cheesy, but i cant get enuff of this cheese.. how sad is that.

Not a bad movie, not enough like book but not bad. Pay attention, there are 2 different Blu ray editions
As always, I liked the book better than the movie but at least I could tell- even in a 30 second TV spot- where the "changed" bits related to the book. Adding Riley's backstory was a nice touch.I'm not sure who was the "best" actor/actress this time out but I liked everything about Nikki Reed's delivery on her role as Rosalie from her telling Bela about her last human days to the fight training and battle scenes. The big battle barely resembled the book version but at least it was better than the Edward/Victoria-Seth/Riley mini battle which wasn't very good at all, shot on a set didn't help it at all. Bryce-Dallas Howard or Rachelle Lefevre as Victoria?, not sure who's the better choice there. The movie does look good overall and should at least "get by" for most fans, those new to Twilight will find plenty to watch even if you don't know all of the backstory. When I bought my copy of the "special 2 disc edition" of the DVD I also bought the Blu ray Amazon listed below it. Don't make that mistake- it has none of the extras the DVD set has. Do a Twilight Eclipse movie search, Amazon also sells a special edition Blu ray, that's the one to get.

love the story
What can I say about Twilight? I've never bothered much to read the books,or watch the movies for that matter, but I saw girls/women around me in awe about this. Edward this, Edward that, Robert Pattinson here and there. So after watching Vampire Diaries I got curious and started watching Twilight. Within 20 minutes I was hooked. Can't let go anymore, ordered the books, ordered all the movies there are and following everything now very closely.Feel a little embarrassed because I'm a 35 y/o woman that is totally hooked on the characters (book as wel as the people portraying them on screen) and keep rewatching over and over and over again. I actually feel a bit empty inside when I'm done watching, so I start from the beginning again haha!I love the story, the special effects in the movie, it's just such a great big love. You shouldn't overthink it all too much. I know people are saying well how stupid is that, she has to die in order to be with him, he is too protective and overbearing. But don't look at that. Look at why she wants to become a vampire and why he acts around her the way he does. It's their love. And that love is amazing and I would wish for everybody in the world. So read the books, watch the movies. You'll have a lovestory for life :)

Who is this a-hole and what has he done with Edward?
I am quite firmly placed in the Team Edward category, but Eclipse the film nearly pushed me over to Team Jacob!Edward is portrayed as a sullen, possessive a-hole with passive-aggressive (and often just plain aggressive) tendencies toward everyone including Bella. For sure, Edward has his issues in the book as well, but it's like they handpicked the worst of him for the movie and left the rest. It doesn't help that there's little chemistry between Edward and Bella - most of the time they just seem to be irritated by each other's presence. The line about them circling each other like satellites seems almost sarcastic because there's no evidence of this in their actions. Based on this you'd expect them to be breaking up instead of getting married.Jacob doesn't get a fair treatment either. The acting performance is fine but the storyline involving him is severely handicapped. The kiss between him and Bella is nothing but awkward and doesn't begin to depict the supposed inner conflict that arises in Bella's mind. Also, when Bella leaves Jacob's bedside after telling him of her choice, the whole process of her having an emotional breakdown and purging her feelings for Jacob (which I thought was incredibly central to the story) is simply not there. Poof, gone. Why was this movie even made? After watching the deleted scenes I could not understand why they had been cut. Particularly the bit where Edward tells Bella he understands if she's mad that he tooled with her car and that she should keep the window shut if she doesn't want him there. This is exactly the stuff that would've made Edward-of-the-movie more likeable, showing his tender and considerate side. And they cut it!Others have commented on the excessive sunshine in the movie, I needn't repeat it here. Let's just say that I knew something was awry when even my husband (who dislikes the Twilight franchise) said "Aren't they supposed to sparkle?".The hair (both wigs and simply styling) is bad enough to attract attention to itself, which is the worst thing that could happen. Speaking of hair - whatever happened to Edward's "smooth, marble-like chest"? The actor's excessively hairy arms and tufts of chest hair pushing out of his neckline kind of shatter the illusion. Minor, but again something that stuck out that shouldn't have.Overall, I think the aesthetics of the film are not very successful. The morbidly fascinating hair aside, none of the characters actually look very nice at all. This is most startlingly obvious with Edward who is supposed to be dazzlingly gorgeous. Instead, he's sometimes just painful to look at, quite contrary to the first two movies. There are occasional moments, like the fight scene in the snow, that are beautiful. The rest just doesn't cut it.The ONLY thing that was better in the movie opposed to the book was Edward's proposal speech. We are shown glimpses of Jasper and Rosalie's pasts but Edward's has never been touched much. I thought it was a nice addition. This could have been a very good movie, but it's painfully obvious that both Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have lost interest by now and the director didn't seem to care much either. It doesn't bode well for the Breaking Dawn movies, but I hope I'm wrong.

Much better than the previous instalments
I wasn't a particular Twilight fan before I finally succumbed and got sucked into the 'vampiric vortex'. To be honest, the first film disappointed me, the second was better, but "Eclipse" eclipses both Twilight - 2 Disc Special Edition [DVD ] and The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2 Disc Special Edition) [DVD] [2009 ] (apologies for the pun). David Slade, the director, has done a fantastic job and the movie really involves you in terms of the action as well as the romantic scenes between Edward and Bella which diehard fans were anxious to see. The acting from the three main actors (Kristen Stewart - Bella. Robert Pattinson - Edward. Taylor Lautner - Jacob) also seems to have markedly improved and is less 'wooden' than in the previous two movies. It also helps that the plot is much more engaging, in my opinion, and there is a real sense of unfolding events whereas Twilight - 2 Disc Special Edition [DVD ] and The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2 Disc Special Edition) [DVD] [2009 ] dragged a bit. So I would actually recommend it and I have given it five stars because it is sheer escapism, and enjoyable too. Bring on Breaking Dawn! arrived - at last!
i pre-ordered this item mid november as a stocking filler for my ten year old. However, by december 20th it still hadnt arrived. aware of the snow having caused delays i emailed amazon and to my utter suprise they apologised that my parcel had clearly been lost and sent another, free of charge, which arrived with me xmas eve! WOW! ive had a few issues with slow delivary from amazon lately, but there customer service over this was excellent and has completely restored my faith, im even managing to wait patiently for the book i ordered two weeks ago to arrive (well..almost patiently lol)the film itself has proved a huge hit with my daughter and even ive sat through it. the ever popular twilight series delivars another installment of cute lads, poor acting, laughs, action and some decent cgi wolf scenes. were looking forward to breaking dawn, but i wont pre-order from amzon for that, a trip to the shops is probably a safer option during the run up to christmas!ps its now Jan 7th 2011 and the original dvd i ordered still hasnt arrived so thanks again amazon c,s depertment!

Best Twilight movie to date
This is definitely the best Twilight movie to date and the Blu-Ray picture and sound quality are first class. Bryce Dallas Howard is excellent as Victoria and brings something new to the character. I also loved getting to finally see Rosalie and Jasper's back story. I would love to see Alice and Emmett's backstory and more Edward & Ismay flashbacks in the future movies. The fight scenes at the end of the movie are awesome and the movie has the perfect blend of action, comedy, drama and romance. I would also like to say the extra features are great and there is a very funny audio commentary with Stephanie Myers and one of the producers of the movie.
