These things are huge and ugly - i wrongly thought they came in different sizes but they are all large. They have no suction and move away from the plug hole when the water runs on them. The first one i tried was for the shower - but its so big you cant avoid standing on it. Do want to stand on a spiky sea urchin when you shower? No thanks. I then tried one in the bathroom sink but its too big and doesnt sit over the plug hole properly. The 3rd i tried in the kitchen sink - but its completely useless for trapping food which just gets caught in the sides, and as it doesnt have any suction it just moves anyway. It was near impossible to try clean out the food bits that had got caught in it. I think its probably only effective for catching hair and therefore can only be used for a shower basin. But as above - you'll need to enjoy the standing on sea urchin thing. I dont like leaving bad reviews and i'm sorry to do so, but i'm afraid this really was a useless gimmick. Fortunately they arent expensive so i'm happy to just throw them away. Cannot understand the 5 star reviews at all...

Previously I had found the various shower strainers I had tried somewhat problematic. Not using a strainer runs the risk of losing items down the plug hole but most strainers seem to accumulate unwanted debris. OK, a minor irritant but nevertheless something one could do without. I confess to feeling slightly sceptical about these shower covers, to my eyes they are not very pretty and I thought they might tend to move about. In the event, they work. Why you might need 5, I have no idea but I suppose they only cost coppers to produce so, why not?

Unfortunately, for me, these didn't live up to my expectations. As far as hair catchers go, I thought the design was aesthetically pleasing and the colours are quite nice. They solid of solid construction and I think they would last a long time. When you place it over the plug hole, they cover it nicely and you can just imagine the hairs getting caught and with the handy little tab, you can remove it easily! Clean and hygienic right?It is, therefore, even more disappointing that they just don't seem to stay put in the shower. As soon as they get some water underneath them, they slip around and don't catch a thing. I've tried everything to keep them in one place, short of actually gluing them to the plug hole (which would render the bath part of our shower-bath totally useless).I've been using them for a good few weeks, trying to allow the bath to dry in between for it to stick down, even giving the bath a proper scrub in case there was ivisible conditioner residue or something stopping it working but with no luck!I will sadly be going back to the old style plastic ones and hope I can find another use for these, maybe as Frisbees or something!

Five good solid drain protectors, would fit over any size of plughole. But, whilst they stay put in the shower, once you empty your washing up bowl in the kitchen sink, they float happily off to the other side, and I'm not sure how to fix this. When they stay in place, they certainly catch all the bits, hair etc., so it depends on your sink and washing bowl I suspect.

Useless. It doesn't stay in place and floats away with the water in the shower. It was a bit better in the bath because of the greater volume of water, but only caught a single hair! Don't waste your money. I'm not sure where all the five star reviews came from!

I didn’t have a lot of faith that these would do the job, but they really do! They stop my shower from getting blocked by hair, stay in place and are easy to clean. Five stars!

Probably the best of their type and excellent at stopping foreign bodies entering waste pipe. A bit on the large side and may not fit all plug-hole recesses.

I was pleasantly surprised how well these work, easy to clean catches the hair even with very little suction power did have my concerns when this item arrived. It does the job.
