Honest and fun
Megan’s honesty and sense of humor about her life and relationships make this a fun read, although heart wrenching at times…much like life! A fun read for anyone navigating relationships with others and self.

Living
All the words that come to me about this book: truth, vulnerable, transparent, funny, sobering, humble, exhausting, loving, determined, motivating, unyielding, inquisitive, reflective, emotional, raw. Megan covers a lifetime of soul searching with the reader hoping that this experience or treatment is going to finally being the relief, peace of perpetual joy. If you have done any program or therapy in your life, you will see yourself somewhere in this book. Maybe you will feel kinship or maybe a little less a!one but certainly less crazy for trying. Megan, your spirit spoke to me in the most visceral way and for that I say thank you and Namaste.

Engaging and funny - a must-read
I read this book in three days, loved it and did not want it to end. Megan Griswold's neurotic, hilarious and tender journey toward greater self-awareness had me alternately laughing and shedding tears of empathy. I was hooked from the first page, completely absorbed by her story. She writes with such intimacy and depth, I could visualize the wilds of Patagonia, the homes she lived in, her family, and her lovers' faces. And what a wild ride roller coaster of remedies and emotions she rode in an effort to gain some equilibrium in her life. She's wide open and honest, unafraid to share some truly cringe-worthy (and hilarious) moments from her past. Digging through a trash can and crouching in bushes for less-than-noble reasons (won't spoil with further description) are two that still make me chuckle when I think about them. In the end, the years of soul-searching and analysis pay off -- read the book to find out how. Highly recommend!

A Different Kind of Read
Of you are curious about various self help and alternate supports in a creative perspective, then I would suggest this book. Nothing typical about it. You will learn about the author's journey and struggles as well as her experiences with more areas of "help" than you can count. I found it helpful in a creative level as well as an amusing read. It is not a "how-to" book but you might find answers to some questions you have been seeking.

My new go to gift for anyone and occasion!
I’m obsessed! Read front to back and back again. I suffer with bipolar 1 and the laundry list of other emotional and behavioral diseases that are always in the same dirty laundry basket. Me and my nine year old daughter who Struggles with anxiety have a daily date of opening up to a random page and use for open communication and quality reflection time. So thankful! Waiting for a raffle for a day in Megan’s Midwest reading nook! Hint hint! Thank you for sharing your journey!

I also loved the audio version, author does an awesome job narrating!! Have recommended this book to others and purchased copies for birthday gifts to some people I love! Did I mention that I have listened to the audio version at least twice!!!! It’s uniquely entertaining!!

Deeply moving, worth your time to read
I loved this book! The map of pain, struggle, awaking, and healing was raw and deeply moving about to navigate life in a family, in relationships and loss. A memoir as a first book is an ambitious project and Megan Griswald hit it out of the park with The Book of Help.

Getting help has never been so complicated!
I love this book, it's so enlightening, crazy and entertaining! This book is not about finding a cure for our problems, but rather a journey of one woman who tells her life journey of searching and investigating different therapies. The book is broken into short stories of each experiences. You get a total view of the author life journey. So much fun to read, and different !Plus this woman lives in a YURT!!! Love it!

It wasn't what I expected.
It's not that it's bad, but I expected a more linear story and moments of learning, however, it's a lot of short stories of her life, in no particular order. There was nothing to connect with and no profound moments as advertised, so I gave up and returned it. Interestingly enough, about 2 months after I returned it, I ordered something completely different from Amazon and that book also arrived at my door...again...maybe that's the universe saying I should finish it! For now, I'm returning it...if it comes back a 3rd time, I promise I'll finish it!
