Great for IBS and controlling cravings
This stuff is great! It has helped me a lot with controlling cravings from my nighttime medications, it’s helped with my IBS (which gets worse when I eat less, so adding glucomannon adds zero calorie bulk fiber to help keep things moving), and is really not too bad to consume now that I’ve figured out my best way. My advice: add one scoop to your cup and then add a tiny bit of cool water. Stir it into a paste with no lumps. Add a bit more water. Once you’re pretty sure it will easily mix, add the rest of your water and whatever flavoring you want to use. I use a squirt of Mio, and the flavor is basically nonexistent. There’s a bit of sliminess in the last dregs but I just swallow it quickly and move on. Not a big deal. I’ll fill my cup again with water just to get any dregs and to ensure that there’s enough liquid in my system. I’ve heard it mixes well into yogurt and smoothies as well, but I haven’t tried it yet. My stomach hasn’t had any real negative effects apart from some mild nausea and a bit of bloating at first, but now I’m adapted to it.

This konjac color is brown
I thought konjac was only white. At first I was horrified when I mixed the konjac powder with water and saw it turn brown with dark specks. It turns out that konjac can be white, gray, or brown and with specks.I ended up throwing out the konjac food I just made and almost threw away the entire package. Please indicate on the Amazon listing and also on the package that konjac can be white, gray or brown. It does say "natural color variation may occur with this product" but I think this needs to be more specific. Pictures of the jelly color would be even more helpful. Based on the reviews, other customers thought the same thing. Clarification will avoid misunderstanding and bad reviews when nothing is wrong with the product.

DO NOT USE!! Impure at best / quite possibly not konjac root
BUYER BEWARE. I rarely write reviews. I am writing only because of concerns for the health of others. I have used other konjac root powder for years with no ill effect. I used this today as a sauce thickener and agree with others who say that it neither looks or behaves like other versions. All three in my family who consumed the food had adverse, allergy-like reactions, including scratchy and painful throat as mentioned by other reviews. (I did not read the reviews until after using this product and experiencing its ill effects.) We have absolutely no preexisting food allergies of which I am aware.I am keeping the package for now until I decide if I want to bother having it tested. After enough internet-searching, I did find one reviewer who expressed skepticism about the producer (generally -- not specific to this product) because of the comparatively-low prices and absence of customer service and unavailability upon request of their lab tests or other claimed product credentials. Whether Microingredients is deliberately scamming customers or simply has inadequate quality control, I have no idea.Do not use this product. There are plenty of good-quality alternatives . This one will simply bring regret about wasting other quality ingredients when you have to throw away your meal or snack and dismay about what you have ingested in the process.

Not exactly what (the gel) I thought it was
I like this brand in general but this Konjac root has very little if any “gel” quality. Viscosity is similar to fiber to me; it also is a light brown color. Maybe I misunderstood the description when it mentioned “gel”. I will use in smoothies but need a lot more gel / binding quality for some of my vegan burgers and meatball recipes. The Now brand has a good product for that- Which I typically order but thought I’d try this one out.

Works for me
I use it for my pepper steak and rice that I cook from time to time. Great cornstarch replacement.

I love that that is all I need to thicken up my ice cream.
I use it to thicken up my Keto Ice Cream. put it in the freezer and just wait a couple of hours and head to the refrigerator! Well, actually later that night, but I do go and taste it and forget to stop!
