Scottish Offpiste Skiing & Snowboarding: Nevis Range and Ben Nevis

Good selection of offpiste ski areas to explore, both those accessed via the Nevis range lift system and those requiring access on foot/skins. A few suggestions for tours. As per all guidebooks would highly recommended a map if intending to follow any of these!

Enjoyable romp through some mad routes that no sane human would ever try. I had never realised that Scotland has such crazy off-piste. Maybe one day I might explore ....

Advise anyone reading this book who doesn't know the area to be very careful of avalanches.Check the Avalanche Information Service, check the conditions, don't risk it.

A long awaited modern guide to backcountry skiing in Scotland!For years the only guide available was the old and out of print  Ski Mountaineering in Scotland (Scottish Mountaineering Club Guide) . This book, covering just one area of Scotland but in far more detail, and with more of an 'off-piste' than 'touring' focus is a much appreciated updated guide covering the classics as well as recent developments in skiing in Scotland. The route descriptions and photos are excellent, and the grading and rating system, with useful comparisons to other routes, will really inspire and help readers in choosing backcountry routes.Fingers crossed that this is just first in a series, and guides to the many other areas of Scotland appear in the future.

Fills the final 'gap' in Scottish winter sport guides.A real labour of love, with super photography. Will help raise the profile of a relatively niche activity in the Highlands.
