Pure Instinct Explicit Lyrics

The cover art for this album was replaced with an alternate cover for the U.S. release. The U.S. cover had a picture of the band with a red wave eminating from a guitar. Pure instinct it's a return to their roots in solid songwriting blending the better textures of their instruments and vocals. This is one of my favorite Scorpions albums behind Blackout & Love at First Sting. The songs are all great and have great hooks. It is what I call Hard Rock not Heavy Metal. If you like Scorpions this is a great album. The most amazing thing about this album is the complete lack of filler. Not that the Scorpions are known for writing filler songs, but this is their 13th full-length album. Most bands lose their creative energy after 5 or 6 albums, but that is not the case here. Every single song here is very well composed and structured, and they all have the kind of chorus that will have you singing along by the second time you listen to the album. The other great thing about this is that they haven't tried to modernize their sound at all. Stylistically, this album sounds very much like something from the 80s, but with a more modern production. It's classic Scorpions material, melodic catchy hard rock bordering on metal.

One of the best and most famous Scorpions offerings of all times. Heavy riffing mixed with subtle melodies, singing solos intertwined with Meine's everruling voice... The one thing I really pity, is the cover artwork, if you don't know the original cover was banned in the USA, so here you'll see quite poor photo of a band which simply cannot reflect the album's music content. But aside from this it's a solid release and a very perfect edition. Just buy it!

Great CD

With 15 or 16 studio albums, [The] Scorpions are one of the best and longest enduring rock bands of all time. While their most memorable hits tend to be off of Love at First Sting, or Blackout, this album stands out, in my opinion as one of their overall best. The structure and composition of each song is amazing and shows maturity from their earlier albums. Whether it's a rock anthem like Wild Child, or more along the lines of a ballad (ie. Where the River Flows), the album is full of jewels and conveys the maturity, structure, and depth of one of the best rock groups of all time.

Although not as famous as Crazy World, Blackout and Love at First Sting, Pure Instinct is a great Scorpions Album. I actually did not know many songs from this album before buying it, however I chose it because it has the song You And I, which I did know, and is also one of the best from the Album. If you are a Scorpions fan, looking for an Album different than the ones I've mentioned above, this might be an excellent choice.

Keeping my review short, this album has a little bit of everything from ballads to heavier tunes. I noticed that people have differing opinions on this one...in light of that, I would suggest listening to the previews of the songs before purchase. In my opinion, it is a great Scorpions album and a definite to have in your collection!
