iPhone 5s is alive once more
My original battery was dying.I ordered this because of the reviews. The first battery I received was a dud (although, I can not be certain that it was not due to user error on my part). It would not charge at all. After a couple emails, they started the free replacement process. I did not have to return the battery I received. Great customer support. Unfortunately, I was now without my phone for almost a week. The replacement they sent works great. I'll update if it stops working great. The repair was much harder than I anticipated it would be. Admittedly, my dexterity is not strong. Once you have opened up the iPhone there are a few steps you must complete and one that is optional. You must remove the touch ID connector, battery cover, and battery (duh!). You can get by without disconnecting the front panel from the back panel if you prop up the top of the phone so you can work (be sure not to tilt the front panel past 90 degrees if you do this). I disconnected the front panel when doing it the first time and propped up the phone, about 85 degrees, with a spudger, the second time. There are four very tiny screws on the shield covering the display cables that connect the front and back panels. One of mine was not magnetized. Fun. There are two more very tiny screws on the battery cover. So that's six tiny screws you will need to keep track of if you disconnect the two panels. The battery adhesive is pure evil if you do not remove it correctly. I did not. When you connect your new battery, test it first. I did not.By the end, I had lost a very tiny screw, poorly reconnected the touch ID shield, and lost control of the volume buttons (I probably nicked that cable, which resides around the battery, thankfully the mute button still works). That said, I now have a phone that doesn't die at 63% battery, so I'm happy. If I had to do this process again, I would just take it into a repair shop and pay $45. I've done other repairs for different products in the past. For me, this is past the line of DIY ---- PAY FOR IT.

Installed in a 2 year old iPhone 5S - so far so good.
Thanks to websites like iFixit and the hundreds of people DIY'ing easy fixes and posting those stories to Youtube, you have everything you could possibly need to fix your own devices (except maybe time). With 2 toddlers and several iDevices, I've replaced more batteries, connectors, lcds, and broken digitizers than you can imagine, so having that skill has saved me thousands of dollars in repair costs. Now the iPhones are a little different than the iPads, so I made sure to do my research and watch as many how to videos as I could get my hands, and long story short - read the instructions, watch the instructional video. These guys have gone to great lengths to point out all the places where the process can go south in a hurry. Don't rush through this part of the process or you're going to have a bad experience. With all the info these guys put out, if something goes wrong it's probably because you weren't paying attention to all the warnings they gave you in advance. That said, the battery has been installed for a week now on a 2 year old iPhone 5S and it's holding a charge again (current battery was at the point where it only held a charge for a day or two). With so many low quality variants of lipo batteries out there, it's hard to know who to trust, so I'm happy these guys have their product out in the market and stand by it.As for the process here's a few pro-tips:1) do a search for a 2 inch suction cup dent puller. These are industrial grade suction cups that paintless dent removal technicians use to pull dents out of cars. I used it to lift my screen off without tensioning or cracking the digitizer2) keep track of your screws, they're different lengths. Draw a diagram on a piece of paper and drop each screw into each circle...if you screw down a long screw into a short receiver you could damage your motherboard (more of an issue on the 6s but still)3) have a heat gun or hair dryer handy to heat up and loosen the adhesive. If you try to pry it out cold, you could bend or damage your frame.4) the touch ID connector...Scandi's video shows the technician effortlessly pulling out the shield with a pair of tweezers. Please note that are 3 notches that lock the shield in place. The side with a single notch is a friction fit, the 2 on the other side lock into stops. To remove this piece, you need to pop the single notch side then rotate the piece out...don't force this piece or you could damage something.5) toughest part was getting the feel for where the connectors push back in. Just go slow and take your time and don't push until you're confident they're lined up.6) the tip on testing the battery and lcd before you lock everything in is a good step don't skip that. That's about it - time will tell how the battery performs, but for now because of great communication, great kit, and great instructional resources, I'm giving this battery a 5/5.

Battery is good till returning days expired.
The battery as received has amazing holding power for a little more than a month (only needed charging once per day), then the battery cannot hold charge just on standby. The percentage drops from 100% to 60% on stand-by mode from 11:00 pm to 7:00 am the next morning as compared to it was new it holds 100% charge. Now, while using a messenger app it drops from 20% to 0% in just a blink of eyes.Update: On the same day contacted the seller for the problem, within hours seller offered free replacement or full refund although it was about two weeks over return period. Company stands behind its products cannot be bad. Rating changed from one star to four starts. I am happy to try again.
