We have a great view from our ridge in a low-light pollution area and I wanted to be able to see the planets that we can already see with the naked eye. This telescope didn't disappoint! Excellent magnification and clear images. I do wish the crosshairs were not so prominent though. It was easy to assemble but honestly that was after I abandoned the directions. I am a general contractor and am good at putting things together but the assembly instructions are not very good. The assembly video helped although it is of a different model.The telescope seems to be solidly made and looks great. For the price, this is a super product to start star-gazing with!

Initial comments: Arrived yesterday. Easy assembly. Tripod is adequate for this scope. No suggested position for the tube in the mount. No instructions on how to set the balance weight. Instructions are more "assembly" than "user". Finderscope setup is pretty difficult. There has to be a better way than three radial thumbscrews. There is enough flex in the tripod that tightening the finder dead center is futile. Seems like a ball and socket with a tension ring would be better. Initial use was in daylight siting an object some 50 yards away. Thru scope great detail and very clear. Never was able to get the object in the finderscope cross hair center point. But was able to consistently hit the same spot in finderscope. Initial use was of the moon just prior to sunset with clear skies. Great crisp/clear view. Could see the craters on the surface with great detail and shadows in them. From there I viewed various other bright objects. When it got "dark" (Viewing in urban skies) I was able to see various objects visible to the naked eye. Most impressed with what was seen that naked eye couldn't see. Started to set up the phone/camera mount. But then the clouds moved in. I will update in a few days after the next clear night.

Getting a clear picture in the scope has proven difficult. Instructions tell how to put it together but difficult to find objects easily. Did videos but not helpful.

Easy to use and assemble, haven't really had the opportunity to get out, and use it. Been pretty busy waiting for a clear night. I am going to try and get out to see the next super moon "Blood Moon" coming this weekend. The last telescope I got was not as easy to put together. I got about 80% done, and got stuck; there was no number to call or website to go to. I didn't have that problem with this telescope, there was sufficient amount of directions. Also, has a number to call and website to go to. I can't wait for those summer nights when the sky is nice and clear. All my family members that come over and see it are anxious as I am, for me to be able to get this out there; to be able to check out the view.Thank you,

The telescope it's self is the same as any other 700mm focal length scope. The kicker here is the tripod and EQ mount. Had another set up with the same power scope. But the mount and tripod were cheap basic set ups. This made fine tuning near impossible and the experinece was frustrating at best. This system is ROCK steady. The fine tuning knob controls connecting to metal gears, the scope coupling support, counter weights and solid metal tripod take a basic scope and make it what it was meant to be. This set up is the 2nd one that became my 9yr old daughter's Xmas gift. We returned the 1st for this one. Her and I love it. She loves looking the planets and I love how well it moves and focuses. It is easy to adjust, easy to focus and fine tune and doesn't bounce or drift or anything. I am not frustrated using this like the last one and we can enjoy her hobby together. Don't make the decision on the scope. They are basically all the same. Make it based on the mount and tripod...and this one, for the price is it!! From frustrated to happy hobby because of this system. Worth it!!

Have looked at a few things, Mercury was kinda neat but I had a chance to look at a full moon and it was pretty good, lots of crater details and surface mars. I haven't used the phone attachment yet and even though the lens with it are decent, I'd like to have a little higher.

El equipo es increíble, fácil de armar y trae los lentes indicados para poderse iniciar en la observación del cielo. Un plus es que incluye montura para smartphone lo que será muy util para poder utilizar el telescopio. El Barlow x3 lo recomiendo usar solo con el lente de 20mm. Toma en cuenta que el orden de acomodo sería en este orden: telescopio, codo 90°, Barlow, base de montura para smartphone, lente y al final el adaptador donde colocas el smartphone.Puedo decir que sí recomiendo comprarlo si es la primera vez que tendrás un telescopio o si será un regalo.

Bought this for my husband for 25th wedding anniversary. He loves it. I was surprised at how big it was and the great views from the moon you get. Able to set his camera up with it. Happy hubby.
