Exciting to see an IDSA Physician who recognizes and treats chronic Lyme Disease
Dr. Waisbren, Sr. has done a terrific service to humanity by publishing these detailed chronic Lyme Disease case histories. Many patients he discussed made full or dramatic recoveries from Multiple Sclerosis, ALS, migraine, chronic pain, brain fog, fatigue, ataxia and paralysis.Dr. Waisbren has treated chronic Lyme Disease for decades and believes a positive Lyme Western Blot Ig G 41 usually indicates Lyme Disease and treats clinically for Lyme. Most of the IG G positive patients experienced improvement, with empirical Lyme treatment and many seroconverted, with clinical treatment. He also reports absence of abdominal reflex as a sign of Lyme Disease. Many of the Lyme Disease cases he discusses had to correctly self diagnose, based on internet information, when conventional physicians insisted they did not suffer from Lyme disease. Some patients required over a year of treatment and relapsed, when treatment was discontinued. One multiple sclerosis patient who had a dramatic recovery from Lyme and Babesia, did not test positive for Babesia, for seven years.Dr. Waisbren frequently used Flagyl or Diflucan to burst Lyme cysts and usually used a combination of two or three antibiotics or intravenous antibiotics to obtain patient improvement.Another medication he used frequently was Valtrex, since he observed most Lyme patients also suffered from Epstein- Barr Virus. He also used Gamma Globulin injections, for some patients.Waisbren had previously worked with Multiple Sclerosis patients and prescribed Copaxone to many Lyme patients with MS type symptoms. He also used low dose Naltrexone for many Lyme patients.Despite not using any herbals, IV Vitamin C or electrofrequency devices, Waisbren obtained many dramatic improvements in Lyme Disease patient outcome. Is is difficult to return to information in this book, since it lacks an index and the table of contents lists patients by their patient number, without listing any of their symptoms, complications or treatment results.Despite lacking an index, this book costs less than an office visit insurance copay for many plans and might provide you with more useful information, than the office visit.

Treatment of Chronic Lyme.....drug protocols to help
Hi, This book told the protocol given to different Lymes patients and how it helped them. It also talked about how expecting a person to be over with Lymes in 21 days is not right and that people need help, but insurance often cuts off treatment based on a doctor the insurance company found that doesn't know about Lymes and uses them as the official way to treat Lymes. People may need an IV and more. He used mostly drugs to help. The people who used Alternative medicine along with the drugs to me seemed to do the best. Lymes people may need Celiac help. Celiac lowers the immune system so it maybe easier to catch Lymes and hard to make it go away until the Celiac is helped. Tests may not work to diagnose Celiac. ALS and some MS people may have Lymes in addition to Celiac/heavy metals etc. The author/doctor recently died of old age, but wrote down these protocols to help others. He helped some Lyme people who no one else could help. Best wishes.

Interesting Lyme Case Studies, Dated, Might Have a Nugget
This book is a compilation of chronic lyme case studies by the late Dr. Waisbren. It was published in 2011 so the data is kind of dated and the author, a respecting doctor, passed away in 2013. I don't recommend it compared to the better, more up to date on the market.

Extraordinary book
I wanted to agree with Schaller who said it was delicious but the subject matter is too grim for that. Beautiful might do instead. The cases are laid out very simply: a bit about the patient personally, what was done, the result. A rather limited palette of antibiotics, albeit massive doses (400mgs. Rifampin bid). A lot of MS, a lot of bad MRIs, some ALS. A curious use of Erythromycin; an alarming use of Gentamicin. The terrible insurance companies in this country and their doctors who know nothing of Lyme denying IV drugs to patients who were coming along. The good doctor is an old school doctor-the patient should comply as the doctor knows best. Perhaps he does but it is surprising how few drug reactions there are among his patients. He understands how unreliable the Quest tests are, is not offended when patients come in self diagnosed with Lyme from the net. A new category of Lyme: narcissistic Lyme.Riveting if you have Lyme. Take a copy to your doctor. Encouraging if you can survive the antibiotics.

One of the BEST chronic Lyme books
This is one of the best Chronic Lyme books that has been published. Dr.Weisbren takes you through his detailed treatment of over 51 different patients and their progress over many, many years. Take an active role in your own recovery from Lyme, Chronic Lyme, Chronic EBV, or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome by sharing this information with your LLMD or primary care physician.I learned a tremendous amount from this book as an introduction to Lyme and associated diseases. 5 stars.

Excellent, highly recommend
Excellent, anyone that has or thinks they might have Lyme Disease should read this book.To many cases have been misdiagnosised by doctors that know very little about the awfulresults this can cause. I think most doctors should have it in their library of med books.

Case report summaries
Some good information within the case studies and especially in the essays. I have the impression that the Author has had a lot of problems with the Scientific Community and acceptance of his treatment regimes.
