Visconti Modrone Tarot: Milan, 1442-1447 the Tarot Deck of the Renaissance Courts

This edition of the Modrone Visconti deck is surprisingly nice. I don’t tend to like reconstructed decks with gold and silver foil, and don’t care for gold gilt edges on the side of a deck - but I do like this one. Since there are few surviving trump cards, the majority had to be created by a modern artist, and comparing his work to the recreations in Stuart Kaplan’s edition, I much prefer the Lo Scarabeo artist’s work. There are a few cards in this edition that aren’t to my taste, but they’re okay. The “Hanged One” with money falling out of his pockets feels incongruous. I’m not a huge fan of the “Devil” but it’s okay. The child in the “Bagatto”’s card feels odd and the overt depiction of a gambling game is excessive in the interpretation of this card. I much prefer Kaplan’s more traditional recreation simply depicting the 4 suits on the magician’s table. Otherwise, I like the new cards in this deck.I have this and the Kaplan edition and they both have their virtues, but overall I prefer this Lo Scarabeo version. For the Visconti-Sforza deck, I most prefer the Il Meneghello and Dal Negro editions, and I also like the Kaplan edition. A far distant fourth is the Lo Scarabeo.

Um dos decks mais lindos da minha coleção, perfeito para leituras performáticas ou usar como cenografia! Só acho que faltou uma borda dourada, o que eu resolvi pintando com canetinha dourada mesmo, ficou ótimo!

Lo cercavo da anni! Il mazzo di antichi tarocchi originali più completo! Grandi dimensioni, potrebbe non piacere a tutti, ma è un'opera d'arte e potrebbe costituire un piacevole oggetto da collezione. Cofanetto rigido.Libretto storico illustrativo a corredo.Pienamente soddisfatto!

Si digo que es precioso me quedo corta, es auténticamente increíble. Las cartas son enormes y cuesta barajarlas pero así es más fiel al original.
