DIESEL POWER SOURCE | Stage 1 | 62mm Turbo for Dodge 5.9 Cummins Turbo 1991-02

Wow this is cool, I was just browsing Amazon and came across DPS. I didn’t buy this turbo from Amazon I bought mine straight from DPS about 5 years back, but since I ran it for a while I thought I’d give my thoughts.After running a few smaller turbo’s on my 02 Cummins, I finally decided I needed a more adequate size and started looking for a 62/65/12 or 14. I came across DPS in a Diesel Power mag and felt really good about them after reading the article so I gave them a call. When the owner personally answered the phone and spent the next 20 minutes answering every question I had, I pulled the trigger and told him I’ll take it.Install was straight forward, drop in turbo with literally 4 bolts and 3 clamps, took about 4 hours including cutting out my 3“ down pipe to add in the 4“.At the time I was running an Edge Juice with attitude and 150 hp injectors. It was the PERFECT combo. I dyno’d 464 hp 996 ft lbs at the rear wheels on Edge’s dyno with this set up as well as dropped a few tenths off my quarter mile time. This was all while my truck was still a daily driver AND work truck, pulling trailers from 4k lbs to 10k lbs all summer and plowing snow in the winter.Egt’s were always in check while towing and normal driving, only time it’d get hot was on the track but as you can see from my hp, I was maxing out the turbo with my fueling.After a little more then a year with this set up, I was hungry for more and knew compounds were in the near future, and thats where my next review will be.Over all, I couldn’t have asked for an easier to handle, better turbo to run. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a little more power, cooler EGT’s, and all around better turbo for their truck.
