Maxfli was bought by D I C K ' S in 2008. Tour means 3-piece (or more, in the golf ball industry) with a cast urethane cover. And that means much less spin for drivers and much more for wedges. X means a little harder for an already hard ball (why I use a soft Odyssey White Hot insert). And harder is better for driving longer, higher, and straighter (but 10% less spin for wedges).At the Taiwanese manufacturing plant, Maxflis are the only balls that get CG balanced (no need to do this at home). And using the resulting alignment line means even straighter drives and putts. This also helps the 2021 Maxfli Tour X beat the 2019 Pro V1x (not 2021) at mygolfspy for manufacturing quality.Bottom line: Don't spend nearly twice the list price. At the real price, they beat Vice (also made at same Foremost plant - also cheaper directly - barely beating the Vice Pro Zero w/fused urethane cover), Snell (Korea, too expensive), Costco (China, too spinny), etc. Don't spend more than $36 for any golf ball (sale price for Pro V1s, skipped in 2021/22). The price of $46.51 per dozen is $20 over list.
