Garage Gator GGR2436PS Platform Storage System, 100 Pound Capacity

My box was delivered yesterday. It looks like it was returned before. After opening it I understand why. No instructions, no parts list, bent platform, scratched up on the black coated metal. The frame seems pretty sturdy. Putting it together without instructions you need to be an engineer. Good thing I am a visual person and could piece it together from the picture. After I put the frame together, the 2 "shelves" that make the base for putting boxes on were too long. I am in the process of loosening the locking nuts to loosen it up enough to get them in place and screwed down. The last person who had this, looks like they tried to hammer it in place, probably how it got scratched up and bent. I don't have time for this. If I didn't have 40 boxes sitting in my entry and living room waiting to go up into my garage attic, this thing would be out of here and if I can't get the platform shelves on it, it still may go back.

Based on other reviews, I hesitated to buy the Garage Gator Platform, but I'm glad I did. For me, the package arrived undamaged (but with minimal packing material--it was just wrapped in cardboard). The parts went together easily--many holes were slotted, allowing easy alignment for inserting bolts (bolt heads and nuts take a 13mm wrench or socket). The parts bag was short by one nubby foot. Four feet mount to the underside of the platform. A quick call to Garage Gator customer service got me the missing part. I did not hook the platform to the Garage Gator GG125 Motorized Storage System because of the negative reviews on the shortcomings of that system. Instead, I used a 440 LBS Power Lift Electric Hoist (also available on Amazon  Kaixun 440 LBS Power lift Electric Hoist ) for a single-point connecting cable. The two together work well enough (slight tendency to turn while rising, but no tilting) and give me the lift capacity I wanted into my garage attic storage (a 15-foot vertical rise).

We attached this to an electric hoist and can sit up top while one loadson the platform and raises it to above garage storag room. It holds"tubs" and so many other items and makes it all so easy forroutine over and over storage. Would highly recommend it.

Manufacturer needs to makes some tweaks to this system to make it worth the buy.

Was missing parts when it arrived!!

These racks are awesome (but read on). We put our soccer trailer on one with everything ready to load in the truck at a push of a button. On another we have table leaves and chairs for our 20+ people parties. On a third we hang our ladders. Very cool.But do not under ANY!!! circumstances stand anywhere near these racks. We had one break. If anyone had been near or under they could literally have been killed. The contents spread all over the garage so I actually got hit by a few things standing well off to the side.I fixed the rack and then dutifully weighed everything that had been on it the first time. No it was NOT overloaded (close though). I would suggest weighing everything you put on these racks and then staying WELL below the limit. Either that or buy some good life insurance for your family...When they work, as I said, they are awesome. One of mine is currently stuck though... maybe it should have been two stars for Chinese workmanship.
