This is NOT the bad quality that we have all gotten so used to seeing...
I read all of the reviews like I always do, and I take that with a grain of salt, like I always do.This time however, I was pleasantly surprised at how well stocked this was, AND how well the inside products were made. The ONLY thing in here that I would call "cheap" would be the tweezers, the disposable raincoat, and the space blanket. The thing about those is that they are always cheap-o stuff, so nothing really new there. The tweezers being plastic is not a big thing at all, I mean, they appear to do the same thing as a metal pair would. The "tactical knife" and the knock-off Leatherman, plus the compass all make up for it though, these are better quality than you would expect. The compass being the lesser of those, but still, 'usually' you would get a plastic compass that doesn't even know what north is, much less know where it is.The "Leatherman" multi-tool is REALLY nice quality, no, it is not exactly "Leatherman" quality, (I'm guessing, I have never owned one) but I have owned a cheap-o multi-tool and this is light years ahead of that. It is heavy-duty, well-made, it has all of the right things that a normal Leatherman/multi-tool would have, so in this kit, this tool stands out.The tactical knife is even good enough quality that it doesn't have that cheap-o feel to it, I am sure that there are those out there that have a LOT better knives than this one, I have a knife that I always carry that is considered a "cheap-o" and I love it, it does all that I need, and more. This one is of equal quality to me, it will do what is asked of it, I have no doubt.I have never really owned a medical kit of a kit that has any of this stuff in it, so I can't compare it to much in my own life, although, I know what cheap feels like, and what quality is. This kit is the latter.I, of course, have not tested the majority of this out, thank God, but the main things in here are well made, and it's a very thoughtful kit that was put together by someone that knows 'stuff', I'd say. Sure, there are better kits outthere, but at this price point I kind of doubt it.If I could afford it right now, I would buy one for EACH vehicle I own, plus one for the house. If I didn't buy this brand, I would look around and see what is out there, I didn't have high hopes for this, it was more of a test to see how well the contents were made, as it turns out, I love it. This was just one of those times that things actually worked out, that is rare for me in this day and age. Quality stuff AND I didn't get gouged by crazy prices! So, I said I'd have one in each vehicle, what this purchase did was open my eyes to what I might need in certain situations..I mean, I REALLY doubt that I might need that pen that has the window smasher on it to break out of my truck as I am sinking in a river, BUT, I sure might need it to save a dog that is inside of a car, where someone might leave the pet in harm's way. (Even a human baby!)If you were camping, I can see a LOT of the contents of this bag being used, the First Aid part, the wire saw, maybe the flashlight, that kind of stuff, you never really know until you need it.The multi-tool could be carried in your Every Day Carry (EDC), it's that good, but personally, I'll leave it where it is in the bag until I need it. (I am retired, so I rarely am out and about like most would be)Same goes with the knife, pretty good stuff! The flashlight is NOT a strong light, but, as a flashlight, it seems to be very well-made, and it works. I was really surprised that there was no battery in this kit, I looked, but no battery, whether or not it's supposed to be one in this kit, I don't know. If you don't have one in your kit, it is a AA battery, from looking inside where the battery goes, to me, it looked like some kind of a weird-sized battery, but, it's just a normal Double AA...At this time of my purchase it is mid-December 2020, it cost me $47.99, which sounds to be very fair to me.

Good basic kit for price!
I looked at a few different basic survival starter kits and chose this one as it appeared to have the greatest number of components that I would find useful and would not be able to buy individually at a better price. I just received kit today and tested the majority of the components. Summary: Everything advertised was included in the pack and each component worked with the exception of the compass on the paracord bracelet. I'd also suggest replacing the tweezers with some that are more functional, as other reviewers have mentioned. Pretty good overall! Nice to have some overlapping functions across items in case one option doesn't work in a specific scenario. Here's the itemized rundown:1. Tactical folding knife: easily opens, sharp, glass-breaking point broke glass wine bottle with one strike of pretty mild force, has a pin-type lock feature that must be released in order to close2. Tactical pen: super light, about the width of a standard sharpie marker, writes well so far, glass-breaking end takes several strikes to break glass wine bottle but eventually does break it, a good mobile option to carry in a wide range of locations3. Saber card: nice, compact little tool for wallet; comes with list of features4. Flashlight: works with AA battery; has both narrow and wide light focus settings, which is nice5. Flint stone/scraper: got some pretty effective sparks after the black paint was stripped a tiny bit6. Compass; worked after I remagnetized it7. Multifunctional bracelet: high-pitched whistle works; paracord can be unraveled without cutting it; rounded, serrated cutting edge is better than nothing in a pinch; compass doesn't work and was unable to remagnetize it8. Whistle: works; lower-pitched than the one on the paracord bracelet9. Camping utensils: functional; has handy little side features like a bottle opener, blade, corkscrew that were initially difficult to open but became easier; some plastic from the body was melted onto the side of the blade when I opened it but it was cleanable; comes in a nice little carrying case with it's own loop connector on the back10. Pocket Bellow: functional11. Paracord: functional12. Water bottle holder: functional, wish the ring portion was a flexible rubber but the more rigid plastic material might hold up longer; has both loop and velcro attachment options13. First Aid kit: nice little water-resistant bag; scissors cut fine; standard type brand of bandaids; tweezers aren't great but they do have gripping surface--I would probably swap them for a different pair; comes with basic first aid instruction pamphlet14. Fishing supplies: fishing hooks seem pretty sturdy, not much of a fisher, didn't test them out beyond that15. Wire saw: cool, easily cut cardboard and a wood board16. Multi-functional pliers: nicer than i expected them to be, handles are pretty light; pull out saw is nice an sharp, has flat head and phillips screw driver options, ruler, sharp swiss-army blade, bottle opener, functional wire cutters and a good file; comes in a nice little carrying case with it's own loop connector on the back17. Carabiner: meh, super light; has a screw lock feature that is a little loose, still functional for casual uses18. Poncho: very thin plastic similar to produce bags at the grocery store; better than nothing in an emergency19. Emergency Blanket: 140x210 cm, appears pretty standard, haven't unfolded it20. Molle carrying pouch: nice; lots of compartments to keep things organized and outside loops/velcro for attachments; water-resistant type of lining; drainage hole on the bottom

Useful items in one small bag
Right off the bat I was very impressed with the amount of items that were able to fit in this small sized bag. It's not SMALL but small enough to be able to fit into a regular sized backpack without taking up much room. I've been adding to my survival bag over the last couple years. Everyone should have this. It may not have everything you need, but you will need everything it has. I give it 5 stars because for the price, you can't go wrong. Quality product

Quite surprising quality!
If you aren't an outdoors nut or someone who regularly carries your own knives this is a GREAT deal! This bag starts out looking small at about 5" by 5" by 8" but I was blown away by how many emergency items are stashed within and how well made they are! Each blade has its own pouch. The bag itself has two fold-out or velcro-secured extra "wings", with lots of handy straps and buckles and D-rings and elastic sewn flat to use for holding things securely. The first aid items are separately bagged in a zippered case. Everything else is separately bagged, so even if you never opened this bag up until you got dumped into a lake, everything would stay dry and usable. Two different compasses AND two different fire-strikers! You'd need to tuck in extra reflective blankets to really be able to jury-rig shelter, or better, have a small tent along, but if you aren't someone who already carries knives of your own, this is a great value for the THREE knives and wire saw it includes-- tactical-standard size folding knife, loaded Leatherman-style handy-tool, and also the eating utensils are part of a swiss-army-type multi-blade. At this price it's an incredible steal! There's extra space in the bag for whatever else you need to add, and it expands mightily if you use all the internal extras and ways to clip stuff together :)
