All the feels.
I've read all Sarina's books. I've loved every single one and I've read most of them more than once. I keep waiting for the book of Sarina's I don't like. I mean I can't like them all right? It was wasn't this one. It certainly wasn't this one. Goodbye Paradise is in its own league of loveliness.Josh and Caleb leave behind an impossible to believe life style with some of the worst kind of people. Caleb has been looking out for Josh his whole life. I was so thrilled that when they finally escaped the place they called home for twenty years there were people prepared to look out for both of them! Josh and Caleb met the absolute best people on their journey in this book they were honestly some of my favourite characters.I cried happy tears so many times reading this book. These guys really needed the breaks. I can't remember the last book that made me cry happy tears so many times. This book is full of feels. Just when I was thinking Josh and Caleb really have it good now Sarina threw a whopping dollop of angst into the mixture. After setting my kindle down for a moment and letting myself calm down I picked it back up and carried on right where I left off. I ended up finishing the book the same day I started. Sarina's previous M/M books have been really rather special and this one was no different. I can't wait for next standalone book, Hello Forever.

A pure and beautiful love
I really hate when the models on the book cover don’t match the book characters.Joshua and Caleb are young. They’ve run away from a religious sect. Josh was dumped because they didn’t need him anymore. Caleb ran away to be with him. They really don’t match those older, muscled dudes on the cover.Their love is pure and beautiful. The help and kindness of strangers is a wonderful thing. I loved the character of Washington in the book.

If I could give it more than 5 stars I would.
I bought this a couple of years ago. I have loved every book I have read by Sarina Bowen including her recent Top Secret. It made me go back and re-read this again. It is a lovely story about so many things going on. Yes, it is a love story of two young men. But it is also about what happens when you enter an alien society because when Josh and Caleb come out of a cult that exactly what they faced with courage, determination and real sweetness that was never sugary. It would have been easy for Ms. Bowen to make Caleb the guy in charge but she creates a relationship of equals that bring different and equally important facets to the journey and relationship. It is a book that makes you want to be a kinder person. Well done Ms. Bowen and if you thinking of reading this do not hesitate you will not regret it.

Loved it
.This is such a sweet and steamy romance and easy to read. It’s a Friends to lovers M & M romance.Josh and Caleb are the cutest they compliment each other well and enjoyed how the story developed. ..You find 2 boys in love despite there living conditions against them, I enjoyed how the character development was written and how Josh and Caleb came to terms to be openly gay when there whole life it has been a sin and wrong. It was not as religious as I thought it was going to be which I didn’t mind. ..If you haven’t read this book, I highly recommend

Hellllooooo Joleb! ALL the feels!!
OMG!! Him by the same author was my favourite read of last year. This book may be my favourite read of this year, making Sarina Bowen now one of my precious few one-click authors! What she does so very well is pack emotion into each of her books. I laughed, I cried, I raged and everything in between!!Caleb and Josh had a tough start - they were born into a cult. And their journey was full of uncertainty. Every step of the way I held my breath, anxious to see what would happen next. There is an incredible sweetness to this pairing. I mean, Wesmie are still my favourite, but Joleb may be a close second! So much to unpack and explore. If you love m/m romance you should totally get this!

Nicely done
Beautiful characters in a sweet, hope -filled story that could very easily have been bitter and angsty, yet turned out gorgeous and loving. A shame, travesty/ tragedy that so many bigoted, tiny-brained , hate and poison spewing, truly evil groups hide under the cover of so-called "religion"-one false convenient label does not change the destructive, vile core :some trillion light years removed from a real Creator of love and light. Lovely, deserving of their HEA , characters.4.5

Nice little mini series from the successful co-author of one of my fave M/M stories... HIM.
***Previously released under the name of Nealy Wagner in 2016, but now edited and now re-released in Sarina Bowen's own name*****Goodreads review July 2016** I liked the story, I really did. That said, it's a self-pubbed story and I'm deducting at least 1/2 star for the typos and the fact that the timeline of the story was all over the freaking place, things that an editor or at least a proof reader would've or should've picked up on. It's Never Over is book 2 in the mini series.

Emotional and Heartwarming Story
Josh and Caleb's story M/MCaleb and Josh grew up together, best friends in a polygamist cult setting on a farm in Wyoming. All their lives Josh was told he was nothing, treated inferior to the others. Caleb had been raised with more, he was from a more prominent family. Through the years Caleb always looked out for Josh, they had a special friendship. Josh was feeling more, and didn't know how to handle his forbidden feelings. One day Josh is taken away from the compound, told to find his own way in the world. Caleb follows him. They are on an adventure along their way to find an old friend who had escaped years before. I really enjoyed this story. The journey, how they grew, how they learned to live in this new environment, how they found their way to each other. Tender feelings and emotional scenes make this a beautiful book to read. I highly recommend this heartwarming story.

This gently tugged at my heart-strings! ❤️🩹
Josh and Caleb have endured 20 years in Paradise, WY where they were raised in a polygamous cult. The only bright spot in Josh’s day is the time he spends with his best friend, Caleb, although Josh spends every waking moment worrying his unrequited love for Caleb will be discovered. While Caleb occupies a protected position in the cult, he can see the writing on the wall: the elders are planning to banish Josh and he’ll lose the only person he’s ever loved. Should they both jump before Josh is pushed?I really felt moved by this religious-escape romance, my heart aches for all those trapped or abandoned in similar circumstances. Despite the heavy topics, this is sweet rather than overly angsty—some hard things happen but they aren’t drawn out. I enjoyed the sense of wonderment as Josh and Caleb slowly embrace the outside world and each other. I also enjoyed the warm support they were given and the focus on family. It was an absolute bonus to hear US voice actors Teddy Hamilton (as Josh) and Dake Bliss (as Caleb) perform the audiobook (currently free on the Audible Plus catalogue)!

I was wiping away the happy tears when I finished
GOODBYE PARADISE is one of my top reads for 2017. This book is romantic, sexy, heart wrenching and pulls on every single damn heart string! I was hooked from the first paragraph, and every page is pure perfection. Not to mention GOODBYE PARADISE delivered all the feels, so you might want to keep some tissue nearby. Seriously. I was wiping away the happy tears when I finished. The true definition of a feel good read.Josh and Caleb are born and raised on a polygamist ranch named Paradise. Which is ironic, since it’s about the furthest thing from Paradise. Obeying the strictest of rules, working from dusk to dawn with never enough food, the only true comfort they have is each other; they have been best friends since they were toddlers.Except Josh is hiding a big secret from Caleb, one he is sure would make Caleb hate him if he ever found out: Josh is in love with him. It’s forbidden in so many ways, so Josh keeps his feelings buried deep down.Suddenly (I don’t want to go into all the details and spoil it all), Josh finds himself out in the world, free of Paradise. He is in a world he doesn’t understand, and one that doesn’t understand him. His saving grace is that Caleb is there, of course, right by his side helping him. Like always.Caleb always protected Josh, and that wasn’t going to change now. He has a safe place in mind and is determined to get the two of them there. The only thing is, Caleb has a secret of his own… one that might even mirror Josh’s.I think the idea that they were raised on a polygamist ranch is so interesting. Sarina Bowen did a fabulous job of creating such a realistic world with Paradise. It was fascinating getting a glimpse into their world- you can tell she really did her research. The feelings and thoughts that Caleb and Josh have, both on and off the ranch, made me forget at times that these weren’t real people. And gah, I just LOVE Josh and Caleb. I love forbidden romance and best friends to lovers and this has both!!! Being raised the way they were, they both clearly have issues. The biggest one, particularly for Josh, is knowing his self worth. There were times where I wanted to hug the crap out of him, even though he isn’t a real person. Their friendship is adorable on its own, but when it starts to move to something more… well, let’s just say these two made me swoon so freaking hard. Their love, their chemistry, their vulnerability all hit you right in the heart. The journey these two go on, the connection they have, and the growth they go through…well… I dare you not to cry!One of my favorite things about Sarina Bowen’s books are her side characters. They always bring so much life to her books, and GOODBYE PARADISE was no different. I feel in love with several side character’s: Daniel, Maggie, Miriam, and particularly Washington (you’ll see why!).The writing is amazing, it’s filled with great dialogue and has characters that honestly take a piece of your heart. Do yourself a huge favor and read this book. You will not be sorry!!
