super material and engineering - i call it shark proof - hope i never find out :)
Superb product - seriously everything is over engineeredAll you have to do is to see the exxxxxtra heeeeavy cable from the wrist band to the pole to realize this thing is not going to go anywhere - as most others have something flimsy (where i live there are no sharks, but i seriously thing u can beat up a shark with it)zero flex, and i mean, zero flex - i read on one review, that it can hold like 3kg, i am sure it can hold much more! CAUTION : ! the "knoby" thing at the bottom, where the wrist cable leads to the stick it can detach ! ! ! (this is not a design flaw, but i guess to change/replace accessories, like mounting the camera right on the wrist cable) BUT make sure that is tight, or the stick will detach from the wrist cable and bey bey stick and camera ! ! !note : right by the of the camera, the knoby thing turns so , twist the camera a bit and then secure it , by tightening the knob on the camera (at first i had tighten the camera, and that was a bit lose)con : it is a bit shorter than it looks, and unless i am doing something serious wrong mine extends to a bit under 16" but i use it for fun not anything professional , so that is not a big issuesomewhat of a con : it is a bit overprices, i bought a 30 in 1 accessory bundle, with a case and a 16gb memory card for that price

Be aware of a weak point
I bought this pole to replace one, identical, that I had before. Therefore I have conflicting feelings about it. On the one hand it is a great product. Short to be handle underwater (I am a diver) but at the same time long enough to take close up and selfies shots. On the other hand it broke after a few dives, the head, which is the fix point used to turn it to the lock and unlock positions, became loose and it was impossible to turn and extend it.I fix it (I am a DIY guy) by drilling a trough hole and putting a pin lo keep it firmly in place but decided to buy a new one just in case

Selfie stick is great. On the short side but that makes it more portable.😡 Almost lost my GoPro snowboarding when the screw in mount cracked in half. It’s maybe only third time I’ve used it?

Durable, nice cradle design, comfortable handle.
Over the last year, I have sampled a variety of newer type monopods, from those primarily marketed as phone "selfie sticks" to those marketed for sporting. The difference in the two really comes down to quality of the materials used in my opinion, plus the fact that higher quality "sporting" items like the Big U-Shot are made for smaller cameras instead of phones, and some of the included frills like the wrist strap here. What is nice is the array of monopods now available is that you can take a cheaper one and mix-and-match parts, basically taking things like wireless Bluetooth controls or tripod attachments and customizing because these are all built with the same lower screw-in sizing. That makes an already great body like this one greater because you can truly craft it to your desired specifications. When it comes to the XSories Big U-Shot, you can tell that it will last by the way it is constructed and feels. The body is thick and durable while still remaining lightweight enough that you can successfully utilize the wrist strap for easy toting, and the cradle is built well. That has always been an issue I have had with most monopods because the cradles are oftentimes independent and shift due to design, but the make here simplifies the motion and provides greater stability. You operate it with a switch on the side, which eliminates trying to turn a knob a little more to tighten everything down. I also like the handle and the softness of the grip because using a monopod for a long time gets tiring. You also have a wrist strap, which is something I would use in case I dropped my device so it would not hit the ground but could not see myself strapping a high-dollar item to and letting it simply hang, plus it has the bright look so you can find it easily. This really is something you would use while sporting, fishing, and the like. I was trying it out with a GoPro while fishing and it worked really well. It also fits smaller cameras including smaller DSLRs like the mirrorless models, which adds another element you can play with. Monopods add awesome additions to panorama shots, any higher angle needs, and a lot more. Action sequences with one person reeling in a fish and one person filming get interesting angles, for example, and there are so many other uses. A con with any type of item like this is that you have stabilization issues when filming and sometimes that can be overcome and sometimes it cannot. You are also literally holding it aloft for the entire filming duration, which can be hard s keep that in mind.

Rugged selfie stick for compact cameras
The XSories Big U-Shot is essentially a selfie stick for cameras, not cell phones. It has a standard 1/4 inch screw that you attach to your camera via its tripod mount. The stick actually comes in two parts, you can detach the wrist strap and attach your camera directly to that. This would be used in circumstances where you might lose your camera, e.g. skiing, rock climbing etc.The second part is an extensible aluminum stick with a ball head that you can attach your camera to in order to get wider angle shots of yourself. Basically a selfie stick. You mount your camera on it and either use your cameras video feature or you can use the built in self timer that virtually every camera has to give you a few seconds to position the camera before taking the shot. The wrist attachment can also be attached to aluminum stick so that again, everything is secure and you won't lose your camera. The main use I can see for this is in sporting. Skiing, rock climbing, canoeing (if your camera is waterproof) etc. where there may be a danger that you could lose your camera, although you can use it anywhere. The Big Shot-U is made for small compact cameras, or some of the new video equipment like the go-pro. Anything small and light enough that has a standard tripod mount. You couldn't use this with larger cameras or DSLR's (not that you would really want to anyway).Overall it's a good idea. Well built and the locking mechanisms work well to keep the stick extended to the point that you want. It does exactly what its supposed to.If you are looking for a selfie stick for a compact camera and not your phone, then you can't go far wrong with this.

Bonne perche mais erreur de couleur...
Produit neuf et original, de bonne qualité, mais déçus par une erreur de couleur. Je l'avais commandée en gris foncé pour quel soit un minimum discrète et le vendeur me l'as expédié en orange flashy...
